Chapter 66 - Chapter 66 : The Journey to Malacca.

The sun began its ascent into the morning sky as Ibrahim guided the car through the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, embarking on a journey that would take them to the historical city of Malacca. Ibrahim was dressed in black leather jacket, white shirt underneath and jeans of dark shade. And Ava looked chic in a light yellow sundress. She was looking so fresh. And really enjoying the journey. The car's tires hummed a rhythmic tune on the open road, and the gentle breeze sifted through the slightly open windows.

The journey began with the sun casting its golden hues over Kuala Lumpur that gradually transformed into the serene expanse of the Malaysian countryside. Rolling hills and lush greenery provided a picturesque backdrop as the car navigated the winding roads.

"Ibrahim, what places will we pass by on our way to Malacca?" Ava couldn't contain her curiosity.

Ibrahim, hands firmly on the wheel, glanced at her, "We'll pass by Seremban, known for its traditional Malay architecture. Then, we'll encounter the iconic Port Dickson, with its scenic beaches."

Ava's eyes lit up, "Stop anywhere in Seremban, please."

Ibrahim glanced at her again and nodded, "Sure, we can take a break at a coffee shop. Seremban has some quaint ones."

She again looked towards the window. The journey continued and they approached Seremban, the city unfolded before them like a canvas of cultural richness. The streets were lined with vibrant shopfronts. Traditional Malay architecture adorned the buildings, showcasing intricate details that hinted at the city's historical significance.

"Ibrahim, this place is amazing. Look at those buildings!" Ava exclaimed.

Ibrahim smiled, his eyes reflecting the joy of seeing Ava captivated by the city. "Seremban has a unique charm. I'm glad you're enjoying it."

Ava couldn't help but marvel at the unique blend of old and new. The streets were alive with a dynamic energy, locals engaged in their daily activities against the backdrop of bustling markets and lively street vendors.

The car gracefully slid into a parking spot in front of a quaint coffee shop named "Kopi Nostalgia." The exterior exuded warmth with a wooden façade adorned by hanging plants, promising a journey into the past..

Ibrahim turned off the engine, and they stepped out onto the cobblestone path leading to the entrance. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafted through the air as they approached the entrance. Ibrahim held the door open, and they stepped into a space frozen in time.

The interior of "Kopi Nostalgia" was a visual feast of nostalgia, with vintage photographs adorning the walls. The background hum of an old-timey coffee grinder added to the charm.

The friendly barista welcomed them, suggesting their signature blends. Ibrahim proposed, "Let's try their traditional Nusantara coffee." Ava nodded.

In a cozy corner, Ava and Ibrahim sat, enjoying the view of the lively street through the window. The coffee shop's patrons presented a vibrant scene – locals engaged in animated conversations, artists capturing moments in sketchbooks, and students immersed in study sessions. The barista soon presented them with steaming cups of Nusantara coffee, rich with aromatic spices that hinted at the region's cultural diversity.

The waiter, a young boy with a lively demeanor, approached their table with a tray of steaming cups. As he set down the coffee, his eyes widened in recognition.

"Mr. Ibrahim Rahman! You are here?" he exclaimed.

Ibrahim smiled faintly. The waiter, thrilled to serve such a notable figure, hesitated before shyly asking, "Could I have your autograph, sir?"

Ava couldn't help but find the situation funny. She knew the public image of Ibrahim, the renowned businessman, was a facade. She tried to control her laugh. On the other hand, Ibrahim graciously signed a napkin, Ava exchanged a knowing glance with him.

The waiter, seemingly on cloud nine, thanked them and hurried away, cherishing the autograph that would undoubtedly be a prized possession.

With a playful glint in her eyes, Ava remarked, "Well, Mr. Rahman, seems like your admirers are everywhere. Should I start calling you 'Celebrity' now?"

Ibrahim laughed. "Only if you promise to maintain the mystery," he replied, gesturing toward the charming surroundings.

Ava took the coffee cup, "Should I take your autograph too?"

"Maybe one day you'll want my autograph on something more personal than a napkin." Ibrahim's words only Ibrahim could understand. Ava didn't even get what Ibrahim was trying to say.

They delved into the delightful embrace of the Nusantara coffee. "I must admit, this coffee is really good. You seem to know the hidden gems around here." Ava expressed.

Ibrahim appreciated her enjoyment. "There's always more to discover. Now, where would you like to go next?"

Ava pondered for a moment, "How about exploring the local markets? I've heard Malacca is known for its vibrant street markets. It might be fun to get some souvenirs."

Ibrahim agreed, "Let's finish our coffee, and then we'll set out for the markets. There's so much to experience in Malacca – the history, the culture and of course the food."

.....

Ibrahim and Ava strolled through the bustling Jonker Street Night Market in Malacca. The sun cast a warm glow, creating a vibrant atmosphere as various stalls displayed an array of local treasures.

Ibrahim gently held Ava's hand as they went through the lively crowd. "This is Jonker Street Night Market, one of the liveliest markets in Malacca. It's famous for its street food, antiques, and unique finds," he explained.

Ava smiled, "It's incredible! The energy here is so different from Kuala Lumpur." She had forgotten any residual awkwardness from their rooftop kiss. Now she was truly living the moment. She was enjoying, she was wandering. The moments were too good. She looked at Ibrahim. He was calm as ever.

Among the vibrant stalls, Ibrahim paused at one adorned with traditional Malaysian batik prints. Ava was captivated by the intricate patterns. She was fond of clothes. Though she didn't like to wear dresses which were revealing but each of her outfit and clothing were stylish and modest.

When she expressed interest in a batik scarf, Ibrahim insisted on paying, stating, "Sometimes, buy something from my money too." And Ibrahim covered the entire expanses of their trip.

They explored various booths of unique handicrafts, accessories, traditional fabrics, and local souvenirs. Ava bought so many things - from intricately designed trinkets to traditional artworks. She really enjoyed the enjoyed evening and didn't want this evening to end. Ava found comfort in the presence of the man beside her – a man known to the world as a powerful figure, but to her, a source of unexpected tenderness.

Ibrahim led Ava to a street food vendor known for its delectable Nyonya kuih – colorful, bite-sized treats with rich flavors. Ava savored the sweetness of the kuih, and Ibrahim, noticing her enjoyment, couldn't help but smile. Ibrahim's warm smile were only for Ava. His calm and stoic demeanor seemed to always soften infront of Ava. And he held onto the myriad bags from their shopping spree, refusing to let Ava carry even the lightest one. They night wore on and they continued their explanation.

The busy Jonker Street gradually faded as they approached the parked car. Ibrahim arranged the shopping bags in the car's spacious trunk.

They both settled into the car and Ava couldn't conceal the exhaustion that settled into her limbs after the hours of exploration. Her aching legs found relief as she sank into the cushioned seat, and a sigh escaped her lips. Ibrahim, noticing her weariness, couldn't resist teasing, "You know, you claimed you didn't want to come, but I see that smile. Seems like someone's having a good time."

Ava chuckled in response, "Okay, okay, you caught me. I'm glad I came. This was unexpectedly fun."

With a satisfied smirk, Ibrahim reminded her, "Took me a whole hour to convince you."

Ava retorted, "I just like to bicker with you.

"Get used to it, Ava. I'll probably spend my entire life convincing you of little things. You should thank me for dragging you into this adventure." Ibrahim replied.

Ava laughed, "Thank you for dragging me into an adventure? I don't think I need to do. By the way, Where are we going to stay?"

"In my hotel," Ibrahim casually remarked.

Ava's surprise was evident. "You have a hotel here too?"

Ibrahim nodded, "I have several properties scattered here and there."

"How rich are you?" Ava questioned.

Ibrahim, with a subtle smile, responded, "Rich enough to spoil you, Baby Girl."
