Chapter 11 - 011 Income

[You have successfully killed the [Thick-skinned Corpse] (Elite), gaining 30 Experience Points!]

With the refreshing system prompt.

Two glowing points burst out of the giant in front of Dean McKenzie, at the same time, its enormous body collapsed suddenly because of the loss of strength, crashing onto McKenzie's body.

Such a pressure almost crushed Dean McKenzie's small frame to smithereens.

Fortunately, Dean McKenzie had wisely drunk a bottle of [Life Potion] (Tiny) beforehand.

This potion saved his life.

Not only did it keep Dean McKenzie from being crushed, but it was also rapidly healing the injuries on his body.

Quickly, Dean McKenzie, who was on the brink of death, was surprisingly brought back to life by a potion.

He even felt rejuvenated, which made Dean McKenzie amazed.

"Life Potions, terrifying indeed!

Oh yeah, I also have a Mana Potion!"

As his body rejuvenated, he felt a surge of energy building up within, almost ready to burst.

Scared, Dean McKenzie immediately raised his hand and fired at the giant in front of him to relieve this internal pressure.

[You've successfully used the Talent [Extraction] on the [Thick-skinned Corpse], obtaining 0.5 Physique, 0.5 Defense, and [Elite Template Fragments]!]

A boss was indeed a boss; it provided Dean McKenzie with a full point of attribute points and even a never-before-seen [Elite Template Fragment].

Just as Dean McKenzie was about to examine what the [Elite Template Fragment] was, roars from corpses echoed from the side.

Those zombies who had fallen behind before had caught up.

Seeing this, Dean McKenzie quickly got up to confront the enemy.

After dealing with the boss, the remaining corpses were hardly a concern for Dean McKenzie.

Despite the significant number of remaining corpses, with the cooperation of Doggy Two and Doggy Three, they were able to take care of these creatures in only about ten minutes.

"Finally, it's taken care of!"

Only after all the corpses had been dealt with, Dean McKenzie let out a sigh of relief.

He and the two doggies began to clean up the battlefield, picking up the radiant orbs that had burst out one by one.

Dozens of corpses had yielded seven glowing points for Dean McKenzie, including two contributed by the boss. The drop rate seemed quite low.

Out of the seven glowing points, Dean McKenzie obtained three silver coins, 300 copper coins, a bottle of [Mana Potion] (Tiny), and one piece of equipment.

Equipment: Rotten Leather Armor

Level: Level 5

Equip Requirement: Warrior

Durability: 250/250

Effects:

1, Increases Defense by 4

2, Rot Poison (Level 1) (15% chance to trigger Rot Poison on attackers, causing a body part to decay.

ps: Physique greater than 10 will immunize this effect.)

...

This equipment, well, was quite good.

If Dean McKenzie could wear it, the high 4-point Defense would make him feel secure, but unfortunately, the Leather Armor can only be worn by warriors, which was pretty unfortunate.

"I wonder if Doggy Two can wear it."

Dean McKenzie pondered before calling over Doggy Two and having it try on the leather armor.

What delighted Dean McKenzie was that it could wear it.

After putting it on, Doggy Two, who was originally cute and chubby, looked somewhat majestic.

"Nice, very nice. This way, this piece of equipment is not wasted!"

Giving a satisfying pat on Doggy Two's skeleton head, Dean McKenzie's eyes moved over to the shabby little house.

Looking at the fountain, the Bread Tree, and the wooden box, Dean McKenzie's eyes were filled with excitement. After nearly a day of struggle, he finally got them.

But, although victory was in sight, he still cautiously sent Doggy Three first to scout.

After using Doggy Three to test for safety, then Dean McKenzie and Doggy Two approached the shabby house.

[You've discovered a [Pure Spring Water] (Level 1)!]

[You've discovered a [Bread Tree] (Level 1)!]

[You've discovered a [Wooden Chest]!]

Aside from these three system prompts, Dean McKenzie also saw three straightforward attribute descriptions.

Pure Spring Water: Drinking can slowly heal injuries and recover mana.

(Effective for those with a Physique below 5, drinking 100 ml of spring water recovers 60 mana points per minute)

Bread Tree: A special fruit tree with bread, Level 1 Bread fruits can satiate beings with a Physique below 5 and restore stamina.

Wooden Chest: You can try opening it. It may be empty, or it may bring you a great surprise.

After scanning the three attribute descriptions, Dean McKenzie first opened the [Wooden Chest].

[You've opened a [Wooden Chest], obtaining a common Skill Book [Appraisal Skill]!]

A book appeared in front of Dean McKenzie, along with a straightforward attribute description.

Skill Book: Appraisal Skill

Learning Requirement: None

Description: A Skill Book usable by any class

Dean McKenzie scanned it and made no hesitation, learning this Skill immediately.

[You've used the Skill Book [Appraisal Skill], successfully learning the Skill [Appraisal Skill]!]

Skill: Appraisal Skill

Level: Level 1 (0/100)

Chant: Existence leaves a trace, Truth cannot hide

Mana Consumption: 3 points

Effect: After casting, there's a 30% chance to view target's attributes

ps: if target's level and attributes greatly exceed yours, your success rate will be far less than 30%.

Looking at this Skill description, Dean McKenzie nodded his head in satisfaction, "Not bad, an additional scouting Skill. With this Skill, I can gain an informational advantage in future battles. Unlike before, I had to fight with my life on the line."

Afterwards, Dean McKenzie started to get busy.

Whilst stuffing Bread fruits into his mouth from the Bread Tree, he fills a potion bottle with [Pure Spring Water] and drinks it all up.

After eating the Bread Fruits and drinking the [Pure Spring Water], Dean McKenzie's hunger vanished, and he felt invigorated again.

Later, his eyes started perusing the corpses littering the ground.

Looking at the plentiful corpses, then back to the almost ten thousand milliliters of [Pure Spring Water], Dean McKenzie couldn't help but smile.

At this moment, he knew clearly that his time on the Rotting Corpse Plain, possibly the hardest starting part of his career, was about to pass.

If he could start by taking down a Corpse Swarm in his current state, wouldn't he just take off after strengthening Doggy Two?

"If everything goes smoothly, then the time for quick progress is just around the corner."

Saying this, Dean McKenzie took a big step towards the scattered corpses.

The system prompts started refreshing at this moment…
