One was to merge one's body with Heaven and Earth, the universe becoming oneself, the self transforming into all things, mysteriously uniting with Heaven and Earth, co-existing with them.
The other was to lay open one's own Heaven and Earth, severed from the universe, proclaiming oneself as a whole, developing one's potential, metamorphosing the flesh and blood, commanding the body with willpower, and ultimately achieving immortality.
These two paths of the Path of Human Immortal had no right or wrong, nor was there any hierarchy between them. In Pei Xuanjing's view, these were entirely paths leading to the same goal through different means, which could be practiced together without the need to choose just one.
