The sky was just beginning to turn pale at dawn in Anqing Mansion. On the streets, the vendors who had got up early to prepare for a day's business were watching with curiosity, a ragged man with a haggard face stumbling along the streets.
The man looked as if he had been ravaged by a dozen strong men all night. His clothing, originally of excellent material, was now in tatters. But curiously, on the exposed parts of his body, not a scratch was to be found.
"He must be some disappointed man who has spent the night in the brothel!"
Watching the mad, babbling man, a vendor took a glance and then lost interest. He would rather tend to his stall, the source of food for his entire family, than pay attention to others.
