Peach blossoms warm the spring air, blooming first for all to see, so bright, who wouldn't come to gaze. But pity the wild wind that scatters them apart, scattering deep red petals upon the mossy ground.
Peach Blossom Mountain is named for its wealth of peach trees, said to be planted by a peach blossom fairy who once cultivated there. She was from the north and, having reached the realm of Divine Lords with no further path to advance, came to Mountain Heng's Huangting Palace to seek a master and learn the greater arts. Because the spiritual veins of Mountain Heng's cavern were limited, she sequestered here for meditation. Likely homesick, she planted peach trees all around.
Alas, even the peach blossom fairy failed to perceive the Way and probably never returned home. Her dwelling place has long since vanished without a trace, leaving only a mountain of bright red, telling the tale of her namesake.
