He had barely started digging around the spirit vein when, before he even had time to plant the eight array flags, he unearthed three skeletal corpses.
These three corpses were cultivators in the Golden Core stage, consisting of both mummified bodies and skeletons. Judging by their varying states of decay, they appeared to have died at different times, and their clothing was distinctive, suggesting no obvious connection to each other.
One had been shot in the chest and abdomen, with an arrowhead still lodged in the ribcage. Another had their skull crushed by a hammer, while the third had simply mistimed their breathing whilst meditating and died as a result. It seemed they had all been gravely injured initially and had sought refuge near this quiet spirit vein to recover. Unfortunately, they succumbed to qi deviation or old injuries acting up and didn't make it.
