If one were to say that it's your inherent nature to be evil, the insight into your avid pursuit of the Dao just now doesn't quite suggest that you could have been so bent from the start.
Yet if it were some sort of stimulant, a drug, there's no saying you wouldn't consume humans, not to mention the possibility of madness, agitation, mental derangement, and even psychosis!
If I'm not mistaken, you might have just stumbled once, got hooked on some vice, and then you could never extricate yourself, leading to a deeply ingrained addiction! It has now penetrated to the marrow, affected your brain, and you're suffering from schizophrenia, aren't you?
