The library at Cloud Platform Peak truly only housed 'books'. There were bamboo scrolls, silk and cloth manuscripts, and most of all, paper volumes, but not a single jade slip that transferred cultivation techniques. This was understandable; all the sects in the Xuanmen lineage emphasized that the Law should not be passed on lightly, holding their own traditions in the highest regard. By comparison, with Master Lou Guandao teaching various loose cultivators and factions, he was considered 'extremely enlightened'.
However, this didn't mean that Xuanmen monopolized knowledge or hoarded even worthless things. In fact, only core abilities and cultivation techniques were secret transmissions within the inner sect, but the traditional five arts—alchemy, weapon refining, divination, formation, and talisman crafting—were knowledge inheritance that various sects often exchanged and jointly explored and derived together.
