It wasn't that he was surprised by the guards in this vampire lair, it was just that looking at the armor, he felt there was no starting point to tackle it.
It should be noted that this fellow had withstood an attack from a legendary thief solely by relying on this armor.
Just having this thing here meant there was nothing Leonard could do about it.
Not just him, should most of the legends arrive, they too could only back down.
The only exceptions might be someone with overwhelming force like Barre Shepherd or a card master with restraining methods like Merlin... to possibly deal with it.
Thinking this, Count Nikola's placement of this guy here really was an unsolvable issue.
Setting aside whether anyone could approach quietly, even if someone did arrive, they wouldn't be able to defeat him.
With Merlin making an appearance outside, it basically meant this armored bloke was almost impossible to deal with.
