"You dare to treat a Divine Messenger this way."
The roar echoed from Cain's throat as he crawled up from the ground, instantly shaking off the tiny papermen clinging onto him.
Fearing the worst, the papermen scattered, abandoning their stones and shards and disappearing quickly into the mist without a trace.
Before this, Yu Liang had been observing the papermen. Seeing that they remained unharmed, he relaxed.
According to legend, God had given Cain a mark that if anyone were to kill him, they would suffer sevenfold punishment.
This was why Yu Liang only ordered the papermen to attack. Yet, they didn't receive any punishment.
Yu Liang didn't know whether the same would hold true if he confronted Cain. Could it be that the curse only takes effect once Cain is "killed"? Sort of like a death whisperer's curse on him?
The best strategy was to restrain him, there was no need to kill him.
