"What, you've got another premium author under your wing?" Someone joked.
"No." The editor who spoke out, "Dragon," shook his head, "I just read a new book, far too over the top."
"What happened?"
"It's a new account promoting a newly released book named 'The Wonderful Adventure of Li Huazhao'. It's gotten five thousand followers and already has 1300 paying subscribers." Editor Dragon continued, "Did anyone of you scout it? Is it a top author under a pseudonym?"
Normally, there two ways for an author to publish a book: directly publishing a book which will enter the library for editors' review after passing the audit or directly sending it to an editor's email for evaluation and possible contract signing.
Generally speaking, the latter method is more efficient, so experienced authors usually choose to directly pitch to their favored editor.
