To make use of someone else's character charm, one must first successfully decipher the compound path of the charm. This process sounds difficult, as though fishing out a lifeline from a boundless ocean of characters, but it is in fact not as such.
Firstly, all that's needed for deciphering is a rough understanding of the raw materials and the compound path. Secondly, the characters that can be used to form combinations are generally nouns. Add to these a few limiting conditions, and the answers become evident within a few tries.
Of course, this requires the decipherer to have an extraordinary sensitivity to Chinese characters. To the ordinary person, an impromptu attempt can only lead to blank thoughts.
