The current Yu Liang had entered this instance in his two-dimensional form, as "Yu Liang". From this, it was apparent there was a significant overlap between his two-dimensional and three-dimensional selves.
In the Real World, he's human, so here in Flat Kingdom, he had become a "paper person," modeled after his three-dimensional state.
