In the citywide Hegemony Race, it wouldn't have been surprising to see any variety of exotic pets, given that it was a large-scale Trainer event drawing the elite of the entire city, but no one expected something as utterly ordinary as a Red-tailed Goldfish to appear.
Especially since the Trainer of this Red-tailed Goldfish wasn't some unknown amateur, but the famous David Jones!
The stark contrast had some spectators staring dumbfounded at the calm and focused man, trying to discern his thoughts. Had he become arrogant after reaching the Epic level?
However, on David Jones's face, none of the spectators could see any signs of underestimation or arrogance. It was as if the Trainer who summoned the Red-tailed Goldfish wasn't him, his gaze fixated on his opponent as always.
Seeing this, even some of his detractors, who wanted to mock Jones for not being in a Trainer Hegemony Race but seemingly in a decorative fish competition, were momentarily taken aback.
