As they approached Mapleborough Village, the smell of blood in the air became thicker, and Greenox's face grew more serious.
"Be careful, my lord. It seems that a Bloody Beast has slaughtered the people in the village!"
"Bloody Beast?"
David Jones looked at the village not far away, where faint white smoke slowly rose.
Apparently, the village was under attack just as the villagers were preparing to cook.
As David came nearer, he saw that the fences around the village had been shattered, as if struck by a powerful beast, and large amounts of blood and shattered limbs still clung to the wooden fence.
At the center of the village, the head of the Dragon God Statue that guarded the villagers from disasters had vanished, and debris littered the ground.
Behind the statue, more than a hundred blood-drained, withered corpses lay piled together, forming a mountain of bodies, attracting swarms of flies in the air.
"They didn't spare even the children?"
