"Friend Yu, I have to reiterate."
"Our deal is to ensure your safety, so as long as you are safe, I consider it as me having fulfilled our agreement."
"In other words, if I encounter some crises that I believe I can't handle, I can directly take you away, escaping danger, instead of letting us both fall into crisis because of your issues."
"Of course, if you are unwilling to leave with me when a crisis presents itself, then our agreement naturally becomes null."
"Having said that, do you have any concerns?"
Han Yi's words were quite clear.
Yu Xi paid him to protect her, but didn't specify how. In Han Yi's understanding, as long as Yu Xi is alive, it counts as protection. If they encounter danger, they can simply retreat.
It doesn't mean that no matter what Yu Xi does, he has to resolve all the dangers she faces.
His job is to ensure Yu Xi's personal safety, not to guard her while she accomplishes something. The nature of these two tasks is vastly different.
