With Imperial Capital University defeating the Agricultural University in the North Huaxia preliminary round on November 1st, the rest of the six regional preliminaries came to an end on the same day.
As a result, seven of the eight spots for the national competition have been secured.
The final spot will be contested between the schools that didn't make it through the seven regional rounds in a second-chance competition.
Therefore, the official start of the national competition has been set for three days later, on November 5th.
Apart from holding the second-chance competition, there are two other reasons why the organizers didn't seamlessly transition from the 'preliminaries' to the 'national competition'.
First, naturally, to allow the contestants some rest and time to regroup.
Second, to align the timing, scheduling the final round on the 11th of November, hyping up the celebrations for the Double 11th Carnival.
