After he became a Saint, the Five Element Great Dao was a foundational path he had already predetermined, so it was natural that the related "Five Element Holy Body" needed to be upgraded to golden as much as possible.
This would allow him to better grasp the Five Element Great Dao.
Aside from the "Five Element Holy Body," there was also that strand of Innate Energy Luck that could bring him the Power of Merit.
"Doing Good Deeds": As long as he did the good deeds in his heart, he would gain merit. The greater the deed, the more the merit, which could help him cultivate the Divine Powers of the Buddha Gate and greatly improve his cultivation.
This strand of Purple Innate Luck Energy was also immensely helpful to him.
The Power of Merit that he had gained from slaughtering the demon saints alone had significantly increased his cultivation.
And then there was that arrangement, the set-up for becoming a Saint through Transcend Tribulation.
