Chereads / OUR UNSOLICITED TOUR / Chapter 4 - CHAPTER FOUR.

Chapter 4 - CHAPTER FOUR.

This time it came from the sitting room.

I rushed there to see Sophia there with another ceramic vase broken.

"That's it, I'm calling them." I said as I walked towards my room.

As the phone was ringing, they both jumped on me trying to get the phone.

"Jayden, just because we decided to hide in your house doesn't mean you're in charge." Sophia said trying her best to collect the phone.

"You said it yourself, it's my house. My house, my rules." I said trying to stop them from getting the phone.

"As your superior, I demand you give me the phone or I'll deduct your salary and demote you." Sydney said still trying to reach the phone.

"A good business man once told me that I should separate my personal life from business."

"Hello, Jay, hello!" A voice called out from the phone.

"Father!" I said as I freed myself and made my way to the couch.

Leaving Sophia and Sydney standing there trying to plead with me not to give away their location.

"What is it?"

"Do you know the whereabouts of Sophia and Syd?" I asked with a smirk on my face.

"Those two, I don't care any longer, I'm so glad you called."

"You are?"

"Of course, Syd and Sophie don't want to go to any more blind dates, I won't force them any longer."

"You won't?"

"Yes. In fact, your mom and I have designed the perfect list of girls you could go on blind date with."

"What?"

"Didn't you hear me I said…"

I immediately ended the call and an annoying laughter accompanied it.

Sophia and Sydney both sad by my side and continued laughing in my ears.

"Good night." I said as I immediately left the sitting room for my bedroom.

TORY'S POV.

"A coffee shop?" I asked Polly immediately as she pointed at the shop.

"Of course."

"Why?"

"I've worked in more than three famous coffee shops in Brazil, I have a lot of work experience, isn't it the best place for me?"

"I thought you graduated from fashion school, why didn't you try working in any fashion firm?"

"It's too stressful."

"Then why did you go there in the first place?"

"You talk too much, I'm going to submit my resume, just wait here." She said as she started heading towards the shop.

I opened my back bag and brought out my phone and headphone.

I put the headphone on and launched the tracker.

"What is it?" Star asked.

"What's my second mission?"

"You were asked to stay put?"

"Why should I?"

"Never mind, the bronze piece you picked yesterday still needs 4 other pieces before it could be useful.

Your next mission is to get the second piece at an art exhibition in the next street."

"Okay then, I'll just test Polly to inform me when she's done."

GLORIA'S POV.

"Why didn't you investigate the designer we collaborated with? Do you know how many plagiarism case this designer has?" Mr Roland asked Nicole angrily as he threw a file towards her.

She picked up the file and her eyes widened.

"Nine infringements. Wow, who still let him design when he has such an ugly background." Nicole said as she removed her eyes from the file to Mr Roland.

"Companies that have employees like you."

Nicole's face turned red in anger as she threw the file on the desk.

"Don't point those fingers at me now, I told you that he doesn't seem right.

And I also remembered insisting that we shouldn't cooperate with him but what did you say?"

"How many times do I have to tell you that business isn't about how you feel about someone but their achievement."

"I'm not doing this, I have better things to do." She said as she headed towards the exit.

"Here is Mr Zane's schedule, get him to cooperate with us or you can kiss your promotion goodbye." He said to Nicole as he pushed a file towards me.

I picked up the file and followed Nicole until I caught up to her.

"Didn't you say you get along well with Mr Roland, why was it the total opposite in the office just now."

She stopped and looked at me.

I felt weird as if I got something on my face.

"Let me see the schedule." She said as she collected the file and looked at it.

A smile creeped on her face and before I could blink, she pulled me away.

TORY'S POV.

"There are a lot of people."

"Certainly, this is a local art exhibition."

I walked into the building and the building was filled with all sorts of beautiful and weird art works.

"How am I supposed to find the second piece in such a big place?"

"How did you find the first piece?"

"I just noticed it besides uncle Dustin's pillow."

"That's how you're going to find the next one, just be yourself and you'll see it soon."

Okay then just be yourself.

I started walking around and my attention was caught by a beautiful wood carving.

The carving was of a boy coming out water.

The artist captured the moment so well that I started getting goosebumps.

"What kind of eyesore is this?" A woman said as she brushed off a painting.

"Ma'am, don't be annoyed, we'll get rid of it immediately." A man who seems to be the manager said.

"Seriously, they don't know how to appreciate art, poor artist."

The man went to get some people to move the art work.

As they were moving the art work, I saw it, the second piece, it seemed to be stuck to the art work.

Should I wait for them to take it outside before getting it?

The artist might think I'm trying to steal his art work.

Should I rush there acting all crazy?

I don't think I can do that. Too troublesome.

Looks like I'll just do what my conscience was telling me to do.

I took a deep breath and walked forward towards them.

Turning to the woman, I said "Good day ma'am but I'd like to know your status so I could know how to address you?"

"Where did this girl come from, don't she not know that she's the biggest art collector in more than five states." I heard someone say.

Oh so she's a big lady. No wonder it was easy for her to insult an art work and get away with it.

I turned to her again.

"Ma'am, don't feel offended but I feel you haven't really seen the beautiful picture this art work creates."

"Isn't that just a beast smiling and acting widely under the moonlight?"

"I'm afraid it's more than that."

"What do you mean by that?"

I turned towards the picture and started pointing out it's details.

"The portrait shows the day turning to night and a human turning to a monster.

So this portrait actually carries a lot of meaning. Freedom, fear and time."

"Now you said it, I indeed see it's beauty." The woman said with a smile on her face.

"I told you." I said smiling back.

"I'd like to buy this painting."

"I'm sorry ma'am but the artist didn't put it up for sale." The manager said.

"Too bad, I would really like to see the artist." The woman said as she put her hand in her back and brought them out with two business cards.

"Take this and give to the artist, it'll be nice to talk to him." She said as she gave a card to the manager.

"Okay ma'am." The manager said and then left.

She turned to me stretching out the card and said "I've been collecting art works for 20 years now and I just saw the surface of the work.

I owe the artist an apology and you, gratitude.

I hope you could contact me anytime. Besides it will be nice to have someone who actually knows about art going to art exhibitions with me."

I smiled at her, collected the card and then said "I will be delighted to use it."

She smiled and walked away, and I noticed that the art work was being hanged again.

I walked towards the art work.

"Why is this even here?" I said as I collected the bronze piece pretending to be irritated by it.

After I collected it, I started walking towards the other edge of the room.

I slipped the bronze piece in my bag and put my headphone on.

JAYDEN POV.

"In other words, the multi-bot can literally do everything." Mr Mark said finishing his presentation.

"That's a nice project." Mr Raymond said.

"It's indeed a nice project, even Mr Raymond complimented. Mr Sydney, you've got to approve of this project." Mr Joe said.

"It's indeed nice but I'd like to hear everyone's opinion." Sydney said.

"This project may likely cause the company to be bankrupt." I said indifferently.

"How could you say that, this project is very nice." Mr Joe said.

"Mr Miles, you should learn to separate personal issues from business.

This project is very nice, I can't spot a flaw." Mr Andrew said.

"I might have not taken company's business serious previously, but this is getting out of hand."
