Chapter 13 - Two Brothers

Liam had gone straight for Steven which was shocking to Steven himself. Jake swings his whip toward Liam but is slow to stop him only cutting through the mask on his face. and Steven could not believe what he saw.

Liam's face was identical to that of Jake only with a scar on his left eye.

Liam not caring if his face had been revealed had hit Steven who had let his guard down because of what he had just seen. Liam had gone for another attack at Steven who had just hit his back against a wall but Jake was already at Liam's front defending Steven.

"You are as fast as always that a good one brother, Good," Liam said with anger. Their fight continued as Jake was swinging his whip at Liam who was dodging and blocking his attacks until,

"Shit, Jake's whip had been cut into two what is he going to do now. let me join the fight so that I can help him"

And why the hell are beast hunter just watching and not doing anything to stop the fight?

Steven had dashed forward hoping to assist Jake or Stop the fight, he looked forward at Liam who was not even going in for an attack and just stood there holding his sword very tightly.

Steven had gotten in the middle of the two and stretched his hand out. "You guys should stop fighting these are pointless, and why the hell do you want to hurt me, Liam? And from the look of it, you guys are brothers and yet you fight with hate in your eyes. What happened between you two."

"Let him be Steven he is always full of anger, hate, and jealousy," Jake said as he picked up the other part of his whip that Liam cut off.

"Jealously, why won't I be jealous, you were the favorite son. I guess he never told you his story Steven, well let me tell you"

"Now, I will have to listen to their story, say whatever you want to say quickly I have seven more stages to master from the book I am learning from"

In a town called Baghdad, there was a family of hunters called the Lockwood. The current head of the Lockwood family Jayden Lockwood gave birth to two sons Liam and Jack. he trained them both to be strong and respectable beast hunters but while training them, he realized that Liam one of his sons has no or little Ki energy and on the other hand Jake was born with a massive amount of Ki energy since birth.

Their father then favored Jake which made him the favorite son and was treated differently while Liam was always in his shadow and was abandoned and was also treated with less privilege.

Jayden no longer training Liam as he usually did, Liam knew he had to grow stronger on his own and at any cost. He worked harder, harder than anyone and he noticed something his father had failed to notice, he was blessed with physical strength than most at his age and with the sword techniques that he learned, which made him perfect to be a beast hunter.

But even with all that, he did not get the recognition he deserved from his father, and because of that, he started to feel hate and jealousy from his twin brother. And he knew if he wanted his father to give him the recognition he deserved, he had to become a beast hunter.

That was what got him to become a recruit in the Ironclaw association through his family reputation to prove to his father that he has what it takes.

Steven listened intently, trying to understand the situation. "I see," he said. "It sounds like a difficult situation. But maybe there's a way to reconcile."

Jake snorted. "Reconcile? You don't know what you're talking about. Liam is consumed by hate and jealousy. He'll never change."

Liam glared at his brother. "You're wrong, Jake. I am doing all these to be recognized for my abilities. I don't want to live in your shadow anymore."

Steven looked at them with compassion, feeling the pain and anger in their words. He knew that it would be hard to bridge the gap between them, but he was determined to try. He said, "Look, I know you both love each other, deep down. You're brothers, after all. You share the same blood, the same history, the same family. You have more in common than you think. Why don't you try to remember the good times you had together, when you were kids, when you played and laughed and had fun before you knew about beast hunters? Maybe that will help you see each other in a different light."

He paused, hoping that his words would have some effect. He saw that Jake and Liam were silent, but Liam's expressions were still tense and hostile while Jake looked as calm as always. He sighed, wondering if he was wasting his time. He decided to give it one more shot. He said, "Come on, guys. Give it a try. Tell me one thing that you like or admire about each other. Just one thing. It can't be that hard, can it?"

He waited, hoping for a positive response. He saw that Jake and Liam looked at each other the same way they did but then he saw Jake walking up to Liam.

"Do they want to fight with each other again after what I just said? They are meant to be happy they are meant to have each other but yet they are fighting unlike me my family was killed by a beast, and I couldn't even give them a proper burial"

Jake had gotten right in front of Liam which put Liam on high alert, he didn't know what Jake was about to do but he knew he had to be prepared.

" I might be stronger than him in strength but he is more faster and skilled than I am"

" You know Steven's words touched me Liam and I want to apologize to you, I know after these, you won't still forgive me because I never really treated you like my brother. So I am sorry Liam and from now on I will treat you more respectfully and to start with that, you and I will train together so that you can prove to Father that you can become a strong beast hunter. And Steven can join in too isn't that right Steven" Jake said as he looked at Steven knowing he wouldn't like the idea.

"What, how do you expect me to train with this guy huh"

Liam was surprised by what his brother as just said, he then placed his sword back in its sheath and walked away without saying anything.

"Is that a yes brother?" Jake asked as he saw that his brother was walking away without saying anything. "fine, whatever you say, Jake. I just didn't want to be in your shadows anymore.

Great, it looks like they have settled their difference. my words did the trick how nice, they almost made me miss lunch; Steven sighed
