Chapter 27 - Explorations

The next morning Eldric woke to the morning rays. He did his due diligence; he took care of the 6 horses inside the cavern and the daily gardening. After he was finished Eldric summoned the system window.

[Name: Eldric Balmore]

[Household Name: House Snow]

[Power: Tier 0 Level 10 (Core damaged - 50%)]

[Household Power: Beginner Knight Household]

[Army: Two Squires (+), 32 Men-at-arms (+)]

[Quests: None]

He looked at his panel and was quite satisfied with the recent events. He looked toward the army selection and was beaming with joy. In just around half a year, the House of Snow was able to train 35 Knights and 30 more are in training.

Eldric closed his system panel and started to walk towards the cavern mouth towards the House. He slowly trudged, looking at the surroundings. Although there was not much difference between the day before and today, Eldric felt that the air itself felt better. He did not dwell on it and took his leisure time. When he arrived at the House, he saw a group of 5 men waiting for him, these men were precisely his first brothers and companions. They greeted each other and after they did so, Evander was the first to speak up," Patriarch, now that we have secured the whole basin for ourselves it's time, we adjust some of ours plans around here, and finally start to explore outside more often."

Eldric could not say anything before Cael jumped in as well," Patriarch you did say we should have a group of late-stage knights before we venture outside towards the town. Now we have two Tier two knights, and we did not even explore the outside area"

Seeing as Lachlan was about to chime in as well, Eldric quickly spoke," Alright, alright, calm down. First, let's discuss the nature of our visit to the town and what should we use?"

Solen was the one to speak this time," I think even if it is just a small amount, it would be fine. First off, we could get a bit of money for the future, we can't always rely on the beasts in our House. Secondly, we can gather information about the local area around the basin and the town."

"Then what do you propose we do?" Eldric asked. "We use only a small amount of wheat and barley. Maybe around 20% each? We would still have enough to use until the winter barley could be harvested. We could also use the goat's milk from the northern goats and the deer leather and meat from the deer, maybe even some stoneback fur?" Solen suggested.

"Fine, then we will do it this way. Then who should we send?" Eldric asked. "I think it would be best if we sent either Galen or Solen with a group of 2 peak and 4 late-stage Tier 1 Knights maybe even about 7 mid-stage Tier 1's?"

"Mhmm, not a bad idea. So, which one of you two would want to go?" he asked. Galen and Solen both looked at each other before they nodded and Solen stepped forward and said," I shall take it upon myself to finish this mission."

"Hahaha, there is no need for that. Fine you shall take the lead, choose a few knights for in case as was suggested. Be careful and return home safely." Eldric said seeing Solen being so serious.

Solen nodded and left to continue with his duties, it seemed that it was pre-arranged, but Cael left with him. Eldric then, seeing them not leave asked," What more?"

Once more it was Evander who said," Since the basin is ours, we have an extremely huge area to use. If we are to keep growing at our current rate, the buildings and supplies will not last us. So, I propose a clean sweep. For now, we only cut and clean everything in the outer edges of the woods. The stone we found could be used as foundations for buildings or reinforcements, the wood could be used to build more storage and rooms. The livestock area, for now, is big enough. But if we are to ever stay efficient, I suggest we get some more animals to breed and expand the livestock area to at least the whole eastern border line of the basin. The river and lake could be used for various purposes now more effectively as we have control over the basin. Finally, if we are to create a good House, we will need the required space."

"Mhmm, is that all?" Eldric asked back, "No, seeing as we have control over the basin. We could use the slight peaks for surveillance of the basin and for any intruders. I suggest we build a few watchtowers for safety." Galen proposed.

"Not bad, then where do you suggest we build the watchtowers?" Eldric said after some careful thought." In the four directions. At the moment we build more we would be stretched too thin. So, I propose to only build in the south, west, east and north. In that way we would have still had a general warning coming our way if any intruders came along." Galen said.

"Fine, then you should handle the construction and take charge." Eldric suggested.

After their discussion was complete and the next following plans were ready the group left the House towards the forest. When they stepped outside a group of knights amounting to about 15 knights and three wagons. Each wagon was filled with different products, the first wagon had wheat and barley inside, the second had the stoneback fur and lastly the third had deer leather.

"Where did you get the wagons?" Eldric asked them. "I did it, I asked Caspian if he could help with the wagons. "a cheerful voice came from behind Eldric, Lachlan's voice.
