Chapter 39 - Chapter 39 - The Sacrifice

Jakar couldn't believe what he was hearing, he knew Gideon since they were little, he was someone he could blindly trust with his life.

He couldn't be the one. Not Gideon,he would never betray us.

"Jakar, everyone is alive, they are badly hurt, very badly, Loti saved them, although she doesn't look good herself." Lyssann approached him slowly. "Those who are conscious say the same thing.... "

She paused swollowing dry... Her voice came out a little brittle. " Gideon..betrayed us. He joined the King army."

"SHUT UP!" He is angry voice echoed around them. "He is not this kind of person he would never ..." he suddenly stopped talking, as Emil eyes filled with tears, holding his hand. It was painful for everyone, to think that Gideon their brother in arms, friend and family had not only turned his back to them but also left a trail of blood while leaving.

"We don't have time to cry, Ashur is inside trapped with the damn Dragon. We have to find a way to save him..." Said Jakar looking around, realising that help was much needed everywhere.

Loti slowly got up, her life energy was already at its limit. She pointed towards the arriving monsters that smelled the blood.

"Fuck...." Screamed one of the warriors preparing himself to find.

"They can't get through we have to protect them. " said Lyssann with swinging her sword.

"You ...." Holding the young warrior that had first come out of the cave, Jakar ordered. "Bring them closer to the flower thing, so she can keep an eye on them while we fight."

"Yes sir, I will be fast and join you."

"..." Jakar wanted to say something more but swollowed whatever was about to come out, looked at Loti, nodding his head as if he was confirming with her.

While fighting the incoming monsters their minds kept racing, between saving their friends, companions and Ashur. It was like they could still hear him scream.

'I am sorry Ashur ..I am really sorry Ashur, just a little longer.' While this thought kept running through their minds while they fought against the monsters.

Loti kept healing everyone, her bright green colour was fading away as she kept healing them.

"Loti..." Said the young warrior looking at her, weakly helping everyone.

A hand grabbed her wrist. "Stop Loti, you will die if you keep doing that."

"Brother Jakobus, you shouldn't move, your wounds will reopen. "

Loti didn't say anything, got up and kept on healing those in worse conditions, her healing abilities were not strong, so there's was a limit to how much she could heal.

Jakobus forced himself up, went to Loti to stop her. "You.... Have to stop... You won't..."

Loti shook her head, and embraced Jakobus.

" No is not okay.... It's not okay, this isn't your f..." He fainted.

The young warrior ran over to hold Jakobus, before he crushed on the ground.

Grunts and screams could be heard from the warriors fighting the monster.

"They are fricking too many."

They were being overwhelmed.

"We can't give up, everyone is counting on us."

Loti grabbed Jakobus hand putting towards her face, caressing him. She tearing she spoke spoke the human language.

"Loti loves Jakobus."

The young warrior eyes widened in surprise.

She quickly left to aid the warriors, pulling them back from the fight with her vines.

They all fell to the ground without understanding what had happened.

And all the monsters that swarming them like angry bees after their queen, in a blink of an eye had turned in to dust.

The young warrior that had watched everything was terrified, trembling, he didn't know they had such dangerous being walking around them, with such a gentle features.

The ultimate truth was Loti had sacrificed herself for them.
