Chapter 20 - [] Chapter Twenty: The one

Only the sound of Tanvir's blood trickled down onto the ground, echoing in the silence. The weapons remained still, but he could feel a faint energy emanating from each one of them. It was as if they were responding to his words, acknowledging his promise.

The faint energy started growing stronger and visible runes started glowing on them.

Along with the katana he was holding.

Tanvir stood still and looked at them and unconsciously looked at the hilt of the old worn out katana. He got shocked, and his heart squeezed with pain, as he realized it will also be left out.It might also have emotions, but it didn't have any energy, yet it was trembling responding to others.

Soon the vibration became intense and the other weapons also started glowing more and more...

He didn't know what was happening but he did let go of the katana he was holding; it floated toward the worn-out katana.

And it started glowing like the rest of them.

The dragon logo started shining more and more.

And soon,

-Crack

-Crack

-Crack

Soon, other weapons started cracking too.

The cracking sound grew louder and more intense. The weapons started to emit a dazzling light, each one glowing with its unique aura. The room was filled with a display of colors and energy.

Tanvir didn't say anything. This was the fate they had chosen.

" To destroy themselves" He muttered

it was what they decided. He has no right to stop this.

Meanwhile, the worn-out katana started trembling more and more.

Time passed slowly as the weapons crumbled into pieces, their shine fading away. Tanvir watched in sorrow as they turned into fragments of their former glory. However, amidst the shattered remnants, the worn-out katana remained, vibrating and emitting a low humming sound.

The worn-out katana started floating in the air, hovering in the middle of the crumbling weapons. The broken pieces began to float as well, circling the katana. Tanvir observed in awe as the fragments merged, intertwining and spinning around the central blade.

"Wait, are they mixing?!" a sudden realization struck him.

Soon, the fragments started to fuse, connecting like pieces of a puzzle. Gradually, the shattered weapons transformed into a swirling vortex of metal and energy.

As the fusion of the broken weapons progressed, a new form began to take shape within the swirling vortex. It was as if the essence of each weapon was merging.

The fragments continued to merge, the worn-out katana at the center of the vortex began to undergo a transformation. Its blade, once dull and worn, regained its sharpness, gleaming with a renewed radiance.

Tanvir observed the whole process, without flinching or backing away as strange emotions swirled around the room. The sensation was weird but not dangerous, so he didn't move. Moreover, even if something bad happened, he knew he had to face it himself.

The swirling vortex finally reached its climax, and with a resounding burst of energy, it exploded outward, sending a shockwave throughout the room.

As the shockwave subsided, the room fell into a momentary silence. The remnants of the fused weapons settled on the ground, forming a circle around the suspended katana. It stood suspended in the air, its runes pulsating with a dim blue light.

The blade hung upward, starting from the hilt, a deep blue color began to emerge, gradually transitioning into a rich, dark black towards the tip, with small cracks reaching every part of its blade. Soon, their glow dimmed a bit, but if one looked closer, they could see them clearly.

Tanvir was amazed by the masterpiece before him. He approached it slowly. The katana didn't move or change its rhythm.

But suddenly, it started moving slowly, and the cracks lightened up a bit. It slowly rotated itself, pointing the blade down while the hilt was upward.

Without hesitation, Tanvir grabbed it, and the moment he did, he started feeling emotions of gratitude. He didn't know how he was identifying the emotion as gratitude, but it felt natural.

In the next second, a notification popped up.

Tanvir was shocked by the details but didn't show any excitement. This blade was the result of sacrifices, and it bore the responsibility for those sacrifices. He also bore that responsibility.

He grabbed the blade firmly and looked at its sharp edges, seeing his own blue eyes on the blade's reflection. He muttered, "You all will be remembered, and I shall promise once more, I will make this blade reach its highest potential to honor what it deserves and what you all deserved."

The blade's runes shined a bit, and hundreds of symbols appeared, then started fading away. Intense emotions overwhelmed Tanvir, and he knew where those emotions belonged. They were only saying one thing, "Thank you."

Tanvir slowly muttered, "Thank you all too," and remained calm. The blade returned to its original self and vibrated a bit before stopping.

He remained calm and stood there like a statue. Time passed slowly, and soon all of the emotions disappeared.

Tanvir sighed and grabbed the blade, looking at the door. The one through which he had entered the room from those stone statues.

But in the next second, he sensed some movement and looked behind to see the scraps floating again. They slowly melted and took the shape of a scabbard, floating towards him and settling on his waist. He nodded and sheathed the katana, making a loud clinking sound.

Looking toward the door, he could still see the arena, but there were no remains of those huge statues. He slowly walked out and looked back, seeing the door closing on its own.

Soon, a strong wind started blowing, and his vision became blurry.

"Battle mode," Tanvir muttered and grabbed the hilt of his new partner.

Soon, colors disappeared from his vision, and the dust started gathering at the center. A white ball formed while the dust gathered around it. A huge humanoid figure started to form.

The dust settled down, revealing a big, huge Minotaur. Its body constantly moved like mud, and it had four hands, each holding long, heavy blades with solid cracks. The blades emitted a malevolent aura, and there were traces of dried-up blood. The colossal body began moving, and its destination was him. With each movement, the ground trembled. Suddenly, it stopped and opened its mouth, letting out a thunderous roar that reverberated throughout the arena with bone-chilling resonance.

The roar was so strong the floor of the arena broke apart and just like that huge storm of dust was created.

Meanwhile, facing this Tanvir didn't say anything. Unknowingly, he became calm and thought to himself, "Shouldn't I be scared of such a monster?

His new partner trembled, not in fear but in excitement and strong emotions of thurst of battle overwhelmed me.

"Heh, there's no fear," he muttered with a smile and squatted down.Unknowingly, he had become focused on the Minotaur's hollow, angry eyes. Its muscles and veins twisted, and it lowered its body, ready to lung towards him.

With a smile, He muttered"Shadow steps," and dashed at the colossal body.
