Chapter 3 - [] Chapter Three: Encounter

Two blue screens popped up, Revealing The information of Tanvir's skills. He returned his attention from the bushes to the screen.

[• Night vision (Passive): Gives the ability to see clearly in the dark.]

[• Shadow steps (Activate): upon Activating Using qi Host can dash at a target. Consumes: 10% Qi Duration: Depends on Agility]

Oh, shadow steps. Is it the same skill that the wolf used?" Tanvir wondered, studying the skill descriptions carefully. "And night vision, as its name suggests, gives me the ability to see in the dark."

He read the details again and nodded in satisfaction. "Nice, these skills are better than expected. If I'm the only one who has this in this world of cultivation, without a doubt, it's my golden opportunity."

Tanvir considered the restriction that allowed him to consume such skills only once in each major realm. "I won't waste these opportunities, but I have to be careful when to use them."

"Does this apply to all kinds of monsters?!!" Sudden thought strciked him.

"Yes, the chances are high... No, it's almost a fact as if I can loot a wolf, I can loot another monster too."

Thus he decided to get as many as he could before breaking through.

"If it has the typical 9 stages before breaking through. I have to use as many as I can before breaking through," he thought and hopped down.

As He can't let the guest keep waiting.

"Can I? Heh."

He hopped down, and in the next second, a wolf jumped from behind, with its sharp claws, but before it could reach him.

"Shadow steps," at that moment, his foot glowed with dim blue light. And he dashed at the wolf. Before it could process what was happening,

—splash.

Two of its paws got detached from its body. He was shocked as he wasn't expecting it. He quickly cast another shadow and stepped back.

-Thud.

The wolf crashed to the ground and howled with pain and glared at him with its glowing eyes.

He looked at the detached paws, which lay right in front of him, and the wolf, which was howling in pain.

"Is it because of the momentum I gained from the skill?" He thought, "Hmm, it should be the case with such a sudden increase in power."

He walked toward the wolf. It looked at him, realizing its end was near. It struggled to go away from him.

"Sigh, law of the jungle," he muttered. With a swift strike, he ended its life.

[Corpse detected!

Can be looted]

[Loot the corpse?

» Yes

» No]

[Congratulations, he has gained:

• Wolf blood essences x1

• Spirit stones x4

• Skill book shards x5]

He stored all of them, knowing it was too dangerous to stay there. The moment he looked behind,

—Grrr

—Grrrr

In front of him stood dozens of wolves, and a huge wolf was leading the pack with a scar on its face. They started getting closer slowly, anger visible on their faces.

"Oh well, well, aren't I in trouble?"

"Will I die? Very likely.

Will I be able to fight? Unlikely.

Will I be able to run? Uncertain."

He muttered, as he could see their paws glowing with blue light, which meant they would all attack together. Thus, a logical choice.

"Shadow steps,"

which was running away.

He quickly backed up, climbed up the tree on which he was sitting. And from there, he cast shadow steps.

With incredible speed, he propelled through the air.

As he made contact with the ground, a jolt of pain shot through his legs. The impact was harsher than expected. Without a delay, he recovered and cast another shadow steps.

Grrrr ...

- Thud

He heard the wolves crashing from behind. And they were getting closer.

"As expected, it won't be easy to escape from them," he muttered, while he started running as fast as he could.

"Shadow steps"

"Shadow steps"

"Shadow steps"

He quickly cast them simultaneously, gaining the momentum of the old one and increasing speed more and more.

His body became light, and he dashed at an incredible speed.

"Crap, it's too fast... but he can't slow down."

In front, the forest started thinning out. He ran there without thinking much, feeling the warm wind touch his skin. As he got closer and closer, he could see a white sky in front of him.

"Wait, wait, a white sky? Am I in the mountains?" Before he knew it, he found himself propelling through the air.

"Woah." It was as if he had stopped for a moment in the sky, like a cartoon character. He looked down.

"Well, well, I messed up *-----*"

He began falling, and the howling wind echoed through his ears. He could see steam rising from below, indicating water. But in the next second, he saw a moving, strange red rock.

" Wait, is it..."

Realizing what it was he widened his eyes!

."Crapppp."

He plunged into the water, Bubbles rose around him as he resurfaced, gasping for air...with struggle he opened his eyes.

In front of him stood a half-submerged woman with red eyes, long shiny crimson hair, and a pair of...!

She was naked!

Her hand covered her ample bosom, her slender waist, and her pale skin. A droplet of water fell from her hair, delicately carving a path toward her bosoms and disappeared.

He regained his composure quickly and looked away.

"It's a misunderstanding," he muttered.

"You...YOU...TURN AROUND NOW!" she shouted, her voice filled with both embarrassment and anger.

He quickly turned around. His mind was still memorizing the beautiful sight he had just seen, but he knew he was in trouble.

He could hear the sounds of hurried movement in the water as she dressed, and many thoughts filled his mind. He quickly calmed them down and tightened his grip on the katana, knowing that a battle might break out soon.

A couple of moments later, she spoke again.

"Now, turn around," her voice echoed with anger.

"It's a misunderstanding..."

Dressed in a tight dress that enhanced her curves, she looked at him calmly while holding her katana.

"Did you see enough, you pervert?" she said, her red hair blowing in the wind.

"I, Valentine Ashber, challenge you to battle. The winner chooses fate," she declared, "which is death in your case."

An invisible pressure descended upon him, and he knew this kind of challenge was inevitable.

"Wait, wait...It will be unfair. You are far stronger than me," he quickly said.

"I will restrict my realm... Now fight," she said as her aura changed.

Her eyes were fixed on him, and her anger disappeared from her face. He recognized that she was controlling her anger, and in her eyes, he was already dead.

He felt nervous but also excited. Without a doubt, an intense battle was coming.
