Chapter 17 - Quirk Assessment Test (3)

-----------------------

Before we start I'm sorry for the character mistakes I've been doing. Creation is very hard you know but I'll try to avoid such embarrassing mistake.

Don't forget to write a review on my story

The atmosphere of the field was heavy with tension after Aizawa's brutal words, and the class now understood just how high the stakes were. Everyone exchanged nervous glances, their confidence slightly shaken. They weren't simply competing for better scores—they were fighting to remain in UA, the school where their dreams would either be nurtured or crushed.

Aizawa's words echoed in their minds as the students braced themselves for the next test: the strength and endurance assessment. Their quirks would be pushed to the limit.

"Alright, next up is a basic strength test. I want to see how much raw power you all can generate using your quirks, along with how much your body can handle," Aizawa instructed, his voice calm but authoritative. "You'll have to smash through these concrete pillars," he pointed to a row of towering structures, "as quickly and powerfully as possible. Remember, this is about both strength and endurance."

As the students processed this, Izuku Yagi stood off to the side, listening to his music with his signature emotionless expression. His hands were buried in his pockets, and his posture was relaxed as if the tension around him didn't exist. He was listening to "Bring Me the Horizon's 'Drown' ", the lyrics drowning out the nervous chatter of his classmates.

Ochaco Uraraka glanced at him nervously, remembering how he had saved her during the practical exam. She wanted to thank him properly, but Izuku's distant, almost uncaring demeanor made it difficult to approach him. Still, she admired his power, especially after witnessing his quirk during the ball throw earlier. And the race included.

Bakugou, still high on his success from the earlier test, scoffed loudly as he cracked his knuckles.

"Tch, another chance to show you losers why I'm the best," he growled, his explosive confidence igniting a competitive fire in the others.

Izumi Midoriya, with her lemon-green hair and focused expression, stepped forward confidently. Her powerful telekinesis quirk was second nature to her by now, she remained determined to prove herself that she's powerful and the princess.

Whiles Shota Todoroki kept on glancing at Izuku in curiosity with her best friend noticing.

As Aizawa prepared to call the first names, Momo Yaoyorozu, the calm and collected class representative, quietly strategized in her mind. Her Creation quirk allowed her to produce anything she could understand on a molecular level, but strength wasn't her strong suit. She would have to be smart about how she approached this test.

Aizawa finally glanced down at his clipboard. "Yaoyorozu, you're up."

Momo stepped forward, her expression calm but focused. She formed a massive sledgehammer from her arm, its metal glinting in the sun as she prepared to smash the pillar. With a deep breath, she swung the hammer with all her strength. The concrete cracked and crumbled under the force of the blow, but it wasn't as fast or as devastating as some of the others might manage.

Aizawa nodded in mild approval. "Not bad for someone focused on intelligence rather than brute strength. Next."

One by one, the students showcased their quirks.

Fumikage Tokoyami's Dark Shadow smashed through the pillar with ease, though he struggled to control its raw power when it became too aggressive.

Tenya Iida used his speed to deliver a rapid flurry of kicks, each blow more powerful than the last, shattering his pillar with calculated precision. He kept his movements controlled, showing the balance between speed and strength that Aizawa was looking for.

"Bakugou, you're next," Aizawa called out.

A wild grin spread across Bakugou's face as he swaggered up to the pillar, cracking his knuckles in anticipation. "Watch and learn, losers," he said before igniting his palms with fiery explosions. His body moved like a coiled spring, launching into the air with a fierce explosion before rocketing down towards the pillar. With a deafening

[BOOM!]

His right fist connected, sending chunks of concrete flying in all directions.

"DIE!" he shouted as the explosion echoed through the field. The pillar was obliterated, reduced to nothing but dust and rubble. Bakugou grinned smugly as he turned to the class, arms spread wide in triumph.

"Hmmm…. decent," Aizawa said with a dry tone, unfazed by the flashy display.

The students murmured amongst themselves, some in awe, others annoyed by Bakugou's arrogance.

Next, Izumi was called. The crowd hushed slightly, intrigued by the powerful telekinetic quirk she had used earlier in the ball throw. The lemon-green-haired girl calmly stepped forward, her face a picture of focus and determination. As she reached the pillar, she didn't even touch it. Instead, her telekinesis wrapped around the structure, the air around it distorting slightly. With a sharp exhale, she flicked her wrist, and the pillar collapsed in on itself, crushed by the invisible force of her quirk.

Aizawa remarked, raising an eyebrow slightly. Izumi smirked, knowing she had just beaten Bakugou's score and also in strength. Bakugou, meanwhile, fumed silently in the background, clenching his fists as sparks ignited in his palms.

Aizawa glanced at his clipboard again. "Yagi, you're next."

The students turned to look at Izuku, who remained as stoic as ever, his earphones still in. He casually walked up to the pillar, not showing any of the excitement or anxiety his classmates had displayed. His red, emotionless eyes scanned the structure before him, and with a slow breath, he raised his hand.

Without warning, the ground beneath him shifted. His earth element activated, causing the very ground he stood on to rise slightly, cracks forming around the pillar. Small chunks of rock floated up around him as he summoned his strength, mixing it with his earth-based quirk.

The air around him seemed to hum with energy. Izuku clenched his fist tightly, and with a sudden, powerful strike, he punched the pillar, sending a shockwave through the ground. His quirk amplified the impact, causing the ground to tremble violently. The earth itself seemed to respond to his will as a massive crack formed up the center of the pillar, and in a split second, it shattered into hundreds of pieces, dust exploding outward from the force.

But that wasn't all. Izuku, without stopping, followed up with a swift movement of his hand, summoning a gust of wind that blasted the remaining debris away, leaving only a barren space where the pillar had once stood.

The students stood in stunned silence, the display of raw power and elemental control unlike anything they had seen before. Bakugou's earlier arrogance evaporated, replaced by a scowl of disbelief. Izumi, watching carefully, felt a chill run down her spine. Even she hadn't expected that level of precision and strength.

Aizawa, for the first time, looked mildly impressed. He said quietly, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Interesting."

Izuku simply walked back to his place without a word, his earphones still in, as if the entire display had meant nothing to him.

Mina, standing nearby, couldn't contain her excitement. "Whoa, Yagi, that was amazing! You just… boom! The pillar didn't even stand a chance!" she exclaimed, her hands flailing as she tried to mimic the way he had shattered the pillar.

Kirishima, his eyes wide with admiration, nodded vigorously. "Yeah, dude, that was totally manly! You're like some kind of earth-bending warrior or something!"

Izuku, however, didn't respond. He simply put his hands in his pockets and muttered a quiet, "Whatever," before turning away. His emotionless demeanor only added to the mystique surrounding him.

Aizawa's voice cut through the chatter. "You've all seen what this test is about. It's not just about who can hit the hardest. It's about control, endurance, and the ability to adapt under pressure. If you think this is the last hard test you'll face, you're wrong."

The reminder of the expulsion threat hung over the class as they prepared for the next stage of the assessment. Everyone's nerves were on edge, but one thing was clear: Izuku Yagi wasn't someone to underestimate.

As the dust settled from Izuku Yagi's powerful display, the students were still buzzing with excitement and shock. But there was no time to linger on one performance — Aizawa's relentless pace kept them moving forward.

"Next, Todoroki," Aizawa called out, his tone as neutral as ever.

All eyes turned to Shota Todoroki — one of the most well-known students in Class 1-A so far in the quirk assessment. She gazed at Izuku with determination. With her half-red, half-white hair and icy blue eyes, she was a striking figure. Despite being the daughter of the Number Two Hero, Endeavor, Shota carried herself with a cool, detached demeanor, avoiding the spotlight when possible.

She stepped forward without saying a word, her body language calm and reserved, as if the upcoming challenge was a minor inconvenience. Her best friend, Izumi Midoriya, watched her closely from the sidelines. Izumi knew Shota's struggle better than anyone. Todoroki despised using her fire quirk, a constant reminder of her father's oppressive expectations. So, she favored her ice, despite her immense potential with both elements.

She stepped forward, her expression unreadable, as the students watched in anticipation. Izumi stood next to Katsuki Bakugou — his boyfriend — watching closely. Izumi knew Shota's struggle with her quirk better than anyone. She and Shota had been friends for as long as she could remember, and even though they both supported each other, Shota's reluctance to embrace her fire quirk always worried Izumi.

As Shota approached the cracked remnants of the previous structures — evidence of Izuku's impressive power — she barely spared them a glance. With no hesitation, she raised her right hand, and in an instant, an icy chill filled the air.

Frost spread rapidly across the ground, moving with unnatural speed and precision as it encased the base of her designated concrete pillar. The temperature around them dropped drastically as the ice continued to climb the structure, coating it in thick layers until the entire pillar was frozen solid.

The students watched, their breath visible in the cold air.

"Whoa! She's fast with that ice," Kirishima muttered, rubbing his arms against the sudden chill. "She's not even breaking a sweat!"

"She's like an ice queen," Mina added in awe, her breath puffing in the cold air.

Todoroki's expression remained cold and focused. With a simple gesture of her hand, the ice contracted with a loud crack. The students gasped as the frozen pillar began to crumble, shattering into chunks of ice and concrete, collapsing to the ground with a loud thud.

"Whoa… That was incredible," Kirishima muttered, his breath visible in the cold air that lingered from Shota's display. "She didn't even hesitate!"

"She's crazy good with that ice!" Mina chimed in, her eyes wide with excitement. "But… she didn't use her fire again, huh?"

Aizawa glanced at his tablet, making note of the performance.

"Good control, as always, but I still see you're holding back."

Shota didn't respond, merely nodding her head as she walked back to her spot in the line. The temperature slowly returned to normal, but the tension among the students only grew thicker.

Izumi shot a glance at Shota as she returned. The two friends exchanged a knowing look. Shota had always struggled with using her fire quirk, a constant reminder of her strained relationship with her father. Izumi could feel the weight Shota carried, and though she didn't say it, she wanted to tell her friend that she didn't have to bear that burden alone.

Next to her, Bakugou clicked his tongue, his arms crossed over his chest. "Tch, of course, Ice Princess only uses her stupid ice again," Katsuki muttered under his breath, though Izumi caught the faintest flicker of concern in his crimson eyes.

"She's amazing, though," Izumi said softly, placing her hand on Bakugou's arm. "She's trying her best, like all of us."

Bakugou grumbled, but Izumi's touch softened her expression. "Yeah, yeah. She's amazing or whatever. I'm still blowing everyone out of the water, though."

She laughed quietly at her boyfriend's fiery attitude knowing he cared.

Izumi Midoriya, standing nearby, sensed the growing tension between the top students. Though she and Shota were best friends, the weight of their respective legacies — as well as the fierce competition in Class 1-A — made things more complicated. Her telekinetic quirk hummed faintly around her, reacting to the building tension. Izumi had performed well earlier, but the unease in the air was palpable.

Aizawa glanced over the group, his tired eyes flicking between them as the tension and excitement reached a boiling point.

"This is just the beginning. If you think today's tests are tough, wait until you're out there dealing with real villains. You'll face situations that make this look like child's play," he said coldly. "Now keep pushing forward, or you'll be expelled."

The threat of expulsion still hung heavy in the air, especially with Bakugou, Shota, and Izuku setting the bar so high. Each of them had their unique strengths, but now it was about proving they could handle the pressure — that they deserved their spots in Class 1-A.

And none of them were ready to back down.

Shota's gaze briefly locked with Izumi's as she returned to the lineup. For a second, there was an unspoken understanding between them. They both carried heavy burdens, but they were determined to rise above them. Even if Shota hated her fire quirk and Izumi was still learning to control her immense telekinesis, they were more than just their powers.
