Akane was a different child. Always sitting in front of the television. He ignored the world around him. Mainly because his mother was a demon. Not a real demon. But a demon in human form. Abusive and ill tempered. Akane continued to watch television until it got really bad. His demon mother's voice had irritated him so much sometimes, that he had to run away.
"Mother, Mother,"
"Enough," he shouted. In the dark alleyway. Chanaka caught up to him. He was hiding in the corner screeching the walls. The demon was overpowered for the first time. He could not control Akane now. His fear of his mother was even more than the fear he had for the demon. Chanaka stood there confused. "Where is the demon?" he asked him. Akane did not respond. He was still scratching the walls.
"Stop that," shouted Chanaka. "Tell her to stop," shouted Akane. "Who?"asked a astounded Chanaka abd looked around. The demon had had enough by then. It broke out of Akane and stood in front of Chanaka. A fight broke out again.
This time Chanaka was able to pin him down. The demon spoke. "Let me live," he pleaded for his life. "You can die," shouted Chanaka and choked him further. "I was like you once," he stuttered. "But life is unfair, sad and reckless," the demon uttured. Chanaka loosens his grip. "I was beaten when I was a child," the demon said.
"I was not talented in my adolescence," said the demon.
"I had no friends when I got older and the girls ran away from me when I tried to speak to them," the demon uttured.
Chanaka completely loosened his grip.
"Did you have a sister growing up?" asked Chanaka.
"No," the demon replied.
Chanaka leaned against the wall. "I wish you had, had," he says to the demon.
"I was a demon before I really became one,"
"The world saw me as I'am now," the demon said in anguish.
"I too was seen like that," said Chanaka as he smiled. Little Azuki danced in front of him, dancing to her favourite childhood memory. "I would have become like you, if not for her," said Chanaka pointing at Azuki. The demon was astounded. "Who?" he asked. "My sister," said Chanaka and walked away. "Wait," said the demon. "One of us has to die,"
"That is how it works," said the demon. Chanaka was out of earshot by then, as he whistled away, walking to his home.
