Chapter 120 - Key of Light

Oct 14th, 1349 of the Fifth Epoch

"Are you sure about this, Mister?" Ademisaul asked with a confused expression. He had already consumed the Monster potion and finally reached Sequence 9. But for some reason, the feeling of complete digestion that the Mister had taught him, the click one would feel upon integrating themselves with the potion, was also felt by him only moments after ingesting the potion.

As such, Max had spent the past few days collecting the potion ingredients for Sequence 8 of the Monster pathway; Robot and finally made the potion. Now, he stood in front of Ademisaul with the potion and an indifferent expression.

"Yes."

"Alright then!" Ademisaul did not bother with anything else after the mister had confirmed it for him and immediately drank the potion. It felt like he was swallowing liquid metal and it did not feel good at all. But once it reached his stomach, the almost immediately dissolved into his body and spread across his entire body.

Immediately, a quick understanding of what his new abilities were, and how to use them flooded his mind and settled perfectly inside without any pain or negative repercussions. However, in the process, his bright eyes also seemed to have dulled a bit as his normal expressive facial features dimmed significantly.

'Hold on, is he already acting like a robot? Or is this just an effect of the potion,' Max thought to himself while waiting silently by the side.

After a while, Ademisaul returned to his normal state and just smiled at Max, no longer grinning like he always did. Then he frowned for a while and then smiled again.

"Mister, I seem to have digested this potion completely as well."

'Are you the reincarnation of a previously existing Key of Light? How are you flying through all the digestions like it's nothing? Perhaps I should build an Angel of Fate under the Primordial Unity to provide him with sufficient anchors in the future. Hmm, yes, it's best to make early preparations for something like this. Good thing I have money and power on Independence,' Max lampooned internally while remembering the fate of the penniless Fool.

…

For now, Max could not bring in many more ingredients as not only would he come under the radar of the official Beyonder organisations and churches, but he also needed to maintain a moderate cash flow and not pull out too much money that could not be accounted for.

And since most of his money came through the proper channels and after paying all taxes, he could not just use this money for things related to Beyonder activity, at least not so openly. So he had to siphon small portions of money over time to convert it into unaccountable money to be used for such transactions, and that took time.

As such, he left Ademisaul with the responsibility of practicing hand-to-hand combat at the martial arts gym he had previously worked out at, to better use his robot abilities. Getting a gun for a child was rather difficult for Max, so he left it out for the time being.

Other than that, Ademisaul was also to find other students to with nowhere to go and train to become Beyonders. At least, individuals who were capable of understanding mysticism could be used by Klein for ritualistic magic to be able to open doors all over the world and travel like a certain blue racoon.

Right now, however, Max was on a train to a border town between the kingdom of Loen, and the Intis Republic.

Max has asked Klein to do over a dozen divinations, and he had only been able to conduct 9 before needing a break. Plus, he had likely taken the chance to advance to Magician, so it would take him a while longer to temper his mind and body and maintain control over it, so Max did not bother him over the past few days.

Instead, he had a lot of things to do regarding the 9 divinations that were already completed. 3 wishes were pertaining to 3 doors which would be very important to Max in the immediate, near, and far future respectively, and where and when he could find them.

The next 3 were for Max's subordinates; who they would be, how strong they would be, and whether they would betray him or not.

Of the remaining 3, two were for when others with similar origins as himself would appear and where.

The last one was for where Max could find the bastards who had killed his family, back in the Intis Republic. Surprisingly, they were near the border of Backlund and Intis and would cross over to Backlund in a week or so.

But that was a few days ago, and within the next few days, they would be heading into this village.

'And I will be waiting for them.'

[Don't you find it interesting? Kekeke, the mystery behind Ademisaul. Also, as some you will have guessed, the combat chapter is related to the slavers lmao.]
