Chapter 52 - Missing or not?

As Max cantered himself back into his body, he suddenly noticed something. There was a yellow parchment placed in front of him, with words written in rather untidy Loen; the language used by most people in the Loen kingdom for normal conversations and formal writing.

[AN: Yes, I am stupid and slow, and I only realised I was calling it Leon instead of Loen all this while. Even while reading the original novel, I thought it was Leon, so I was shocked when someone pointed it out in the comments. Well, I have finally made the change, and will try to maintain it]

'Mistar. I have been cald by my only frend for an emergenc meeting. Sumthing like this has only happened when one of our lives were in danger, so I need to go. I have kept the bracelet with your powers with me, but I will need to be able to use my powers for this mission. So, I have decided not to ware it and only keep it for when my powers grow too strong and begin to hurt me, just as you had instructed.'

'I triid waking you up, but you were sleeping and simply would not wake up, so I spent time to write this lettar out to inform you about this. I am heading back to the black market of Tingen. As for how he contact me, we decided that if any problems were to ever bfal us, we would launch one of the special firworks, and one of them was just launched a few minits ago.'

'I will be back in an our hopefully, but plees do search for me if I do not return. It is currently 3:30. Bye!'

Max immediately pulled out his stopwatch and sighed when he saw that it was only 4:10, and quickly got to prepare. The very first thing he did was pull out the Beyonder Sword that had yet to be named as well as his monocle, just for safety against High Sequence Beyonders he might come across. Then, he finally took out a bottle of cooled-down tea, as well as the day's newspaper.

Although he felt the need to go and search for the kid, he would have to spend a lot of time and energy doing so, the energy he could have spent on training his body or improving his financial situation. Instead, he would wait for the time given by Ademisaul before heading out to search for him. Plus, if he did not find the kid in three days' time, he would give up on him.

Although Max had taught him a lot, he had not specifically given away his real name or anything to relate to his real self. To that extent, Max had even made sure to burn all letters he received and deliver the letter he wanted to send in person, not using Ademisaul to do it.

Thus, even if the kid was somehow interrogated by Beyonders, it would be unlikely for them to realise he was a Beyonder. Plus, Max had already planned on changing locations. After searching for Ademisaul for a day, Max would just leave this hotel and purchase a stay at another hotel.

Time casually passed as Max skimmed through the various headlines, going into more detail for the few ones that intrigued him, and taking a sip of his cold tea in between articles.

20 minutes passed in a breeze and Max finally put down his newspaper after having a look at his pocket watch. Standing up, Max sighed inwardly before heading to the door.

'Time to search for the kid, and save him if possible.' After all, he had spent quite some time and money on helping the kid and growing him to become a trustworthy subordinate.

Max opened his door, walked down the stairs, and finally out of the hotel. He cracked his neck in both directions because doing it on only one side like more characters in fiction would leave an unfulfilling and unsatisfactory feeling that anyone would much rather avoid.

In fact, he was pretty certain that constantly cracking only some finger on one hand or foot, only one direction of cracking the spine and other stuff like that could be used as an effective and physically harmless method of torture.

"Yo! Mister! I am back!"

Just as Max was going to take a step towards the black market of Tingen, he heard Ademisaul's voice and halted mid-step, leaving him awkwardly with his foot in the air.

Turning around and panting both feet back onto the stable ground, Max saw Ademisaul as well as a brown-haired kid, around the same age. Except, as they walked closer and out of the shade of the building, Max noticed quite a few wounds on the kid and even some bruises on Ademisaul.

"Good, I was just about to go searching for you. Come on, we'll get the two of you patched up. Before heading out."

"Where are we going?"

"Well, another hotel. I can't stay here anymore now that you have likely made a mess somewhere nearby, now can I?"

"I- I am sorry," Ademisaul said while timidly lowering his head.

"Forget about it. At least you came back alive, and you even managed to save your friend. Come on it before the entire neighbourhood knows about the two of you." Max chuckled, but he was not in too much of a rush. If two kids could have escaped with only minor wounds, since most of the wounds on the other kid were considerably old, it was likely not related to a Beyonder organisation.

But still, leaving here before the night was a must.

"So kid, what is your name?"

"Tom."

"Well then Tom, let me tell you about the Primordial Unity," Max said wearing an evil grin disguised as a harmless smile, while patching up Ademisaul and Tom using the first-aid kit he had bought after arriving at Tingen.
