It was at this moment that Samuel suddenly had a thought.
'We do no need to kill Klein.'
'What do you mean?' Max frowned as he asked internally, though it was more of an internal monologue with another part of himself.
'Well. Firstly, we will need to help Klein become a Great Old One to get access to the other Sefirots. But even if we are able to become a Great Old One after that, we do not need to actually kill him, or harm him in any way. All we need to do is repay the favour we owe to Mother Goddess by preventing him from completely destroying her, despite how hard that would be for Klein to achieve.'
'So… you are saying that since Unity did not appear from the True Creator, we would not be too closely affected by the Law of Beyonder characteristic convergence. Thus, we have no need to become too involved with the fight between the Great Old Ones and the Outer Gods, who are also at the level of the Great Old Ones.'
'Yeah.' Samuel nodded, and Max thought for a bit and found it odd.
'Why did I want to kill Klein in the first place? What would I gain by doing that?'
'Power. I'm sure both Unity and the Mother goddess want you to kill Klein and take up his powers as well.'
'So, I was being influenced?' Max frowned internally upon this realisation. He had already been manipulated by Unity once to take the risk and enter the amalgamation of all without any safety measures.
'…' Samuel did not say anything and let Max think things through before nodding.
'Alright then, we don't need to kill Klein, or harm him in any way.' Max thought to himself.
Meanwhile, Klein had just recovered and asked Max to follow him to the Topaz room. As the two settled down, Klein put on a professional smile as he asked.
"What can I divine for you Mr. Verstappen?"
"Well, I want you to find someone. He is an old man named Uxas. He used to run a café called the Entwine Café. He had a wife and son, but they passed away quite some time ago. Around a year ago, he went missing and I want to find him."
"Mr. Moretti, the old man is someone who effectively saved my life. I really need to find him… and if he is dead… then I at least need to know that as well. If you could find his body that it would be good also…" Max said while bowing his head slightly to Klein.
Unknowingly, he had displayed his true emotions to Klein, and his eyes had already turned watery and he did not wish to show this side of his to Klein, or anyone, anyone other than the old man…
Klein on the other hand had already observed two things. One, was that Mr. Death from the tarot club was definitely a Beyonder, but he could not see any sign of him actually being a Beyonder out here in the real world.
Secondly, Max was really sad and melancholic at the moment, his aura said so as well, meaning his emotions were real, and he was likely here to search for this person.
Calming down, he asked Mr. Death.
"What divination method would you like to use?"
"Whatever you have used to the lady who had just left."
"Alright then. Please fill in all information about the person you are searching for on this goat skin. The more detailed, the better."
After putting in all the information that he knew, down to the finest details he could remember, and was then asked by Klein to leave the room. Before leaving, Max took a photograph of Old Man Uxas and his late wife that he had taken from the Café.
"I hope this will help. It is him and his late wife."
Once Max was gone, Klein took out a pendulum and asked a question, only to realise that it was failing to activate. Slightly frightened, he entered the Sefirah Castle but did not divine about what Max wanted. Instead, he took out a pendulum again and asked the same question.
"Mr. Verstappen is a threat to me."
The pendulum rapidly turned clockwise. An instance of silence later, Klein decided to ask another question.
"Mr. Verstappen is here to harm me in any way."
This time, it spun anti-clockwise, meaning a negative reply. Seeing this, Klein sighed in relief and finally began to divine the person Mr. Death was searching for. After a few calculations, Klein closed his eyes and leaned back in his high-back chair in the grey fog.
Instantly, many visions passed through his mind as he saw an old man currently in a meeting with a bold man who had a scar on his face. Then, he saw the entire room tremble before panic ensued as the roof collapsed. The vision instantly changed and now showed the old man and the bald man being pursued by crazed individuals as they dashed across the streets and escaped into the forest.
They kept running and soon lost their pursuers, however, they suddenly encountered something that was behind the viewpoint that Klein was seeing through. But he could clearly see their horror-stricken face as they quickly began to throw out Beyonder powers like it was rubbish while desperately running away.
In the process, the old man sacrificed himself and was stabbed using two swords, while the bald man was able to escape due to this. He was currently somewhere in the Desi Bay. As for the corpse of the Old Man, when Klein tried to see what happened to it, all he saw was the figure of a man in armour, multiple weapons all around him as a fire seemed to ignite in his eyes.
Suddenly, He looked up as though staring right at Klein, and the vision ended right there.
Klein opened his eyes and could only sigh. As it turned out, the old man Mr. Death was searching for had already passed away.
