Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Rage energy condensed into The Destroyer's hand. The sounds of helicopters scattered through the air as they flew above the scene. One helicopter opened its door and revealed a cannon made up of high-quality metal and sophisticated machinery. Most of the innocent people have left the highway, which opened up an opportunity for violence.

"Backup is finally here.", Axel said.

"There's still no assurance that we can win this,", Jess stated as she maintained her serious tone.

"Just as I anticipated.", The Destroyer looked above as he observed five war helicopters flying above them. The lights from the vehicles were all pointing at him, just waiting for a signal to attack.

"Since the lights are shining on me, I might as well give you a show.", he added.

"The target is in vision. Fire!", a random voice from the pilot of Squadron A. The weapon operator in the helicopter charged up the cannon before firing a laser beam at the target. The Destroyer put his right hand before him as the cannon was charging up. He extended rage energy from his right hand, creating a projection of his right hand that was bigger than him. The giant hand blocked the cannon effortlessly. After the unsuccessful attack, The Destroyer released and threw the enraged hand projection onto the war helicopter.

"He's attacking!", the weapon operator spoke to the pilot using his communication device.

"I hear you.", the pilot replied. She moved the vehicle and dodged the attack. The Destroyer moved his fingers to a fist position. The hand transformed into a fist and charged at the helicopter.

"It's coming back!", the weapon operator yelled as he looked through the window and saw the enraged fist approaching them. The pilot swerved, barely avoiding the attack.

"Go-.", before the weapon operator could finish his sentence, the enraged fist exploded near them, causing the helicopter to lose control. By the time the enraged fist exploded, the other helicopters opened fire at The Destroyer. The Destroyer dashed swiftly away from the attacks. The rest of the aerial and land troops arrived.

"Change positions, scatter and let's shoot him in four different directions.", The captain of the aerial defense team arrived in a slightly better helicopter.

"Rescue our people!", the chief of the police department ordered his assistant.

"Yes, sir!", the police assistant chief aimed his hands at Martin, Jess, and Axel. A positive mark appeared on his palms, while a negative mark appeared on the foreheads of his fellow police officers. After a few seconds, all three of them were pulled towards him.

"Thank you!", all three said one after another.

"Are you okay, Martin?", the police head assistant asked him.

"I'm still in the zone, my entire body is stressed. It will take a while to return to normal, but I'll be fine.", Martin replied.

"Offensive team, attack the target with G-tier guns.", the police head ordered his people. Dozens of police officers were preparing their Shard-G Super Pistol weapons as The Destroyer was dodging the attacks from war helicopters.

"Squadron D, help Squadron A. I think they are going to crash. The rest of you keep attacking", the aerial captain ordered her people.

"Got it!", the Squadron D pilot responded.

"This is quite a nice exercise.", The Destroyer kept on dodging the attacks. As he was dodging, the police officers were firing their G-tier guns, forcing him to switch his strategy.

"We got them!", the pilot of Squadron D announced to her superior, as the rescue of the pilot and the weapon operator from Squadron A was successful.

"Okay, I'm done playing around.", The Destroyer enveloped his legs with rage energy and propelled himself to the top of the helicopter of Squadron B.

"What is he doing here?!", the weapon operator of Squadron B nervously shouted as he looked at the ceiling of the helicopter.

"Get out of here!", the pilot demanded as she moved the helicopter in different directions.

"We can't shoot him from here.", the police head said to his people.

"Well, this is the only gun I have here.", The weapon operator of Squadron C fired a series of shots of a C-tier gun Campfire-C at The Destroyer.

"Oh hello there.", The Destroyer smiled at the pilot of Squadron B after he punched a hole and peaked inside.

"Get me closer!", the weapon operator of Squadron C demanded the pilot.

"I'll try to get us closer but that might get us in his attacking range.", the pilot explained.

"He's here!", the Squadron B pilot screamed.

"Oh shit!", the captain said. The weapon operator of Squadron B swung an enraged punch to break the door that divided the pilot and the passenger.

"Get out!", the weapon operator aimed the cannon at The Destroyer and charged it.

"Not the wisest decision you ever made.", he wrapped his right hand on the tip of the cannon upon shooting, causing an explosion. The explosion took the lives of the pilot and the operator inside as the vehicle along with their dead bodies crashed to the ground and landed near an apartment building.

"Oh no!", the screams and panic of the police officers, operators, and pilots echoed.

"Who's next?", The Destroyer rose from the debris of the aircraft and jumped to the nearest helicopter.

"I won't allow you to take any more lives!" Before he could land on the helicopter, the captain pulled up an S-tier gun Lethality-S, and shot him directly in the head. The bullet penetrated through the defenseless enemy's head and he fell down to the ground. The police officers circled around his body as they observed if he was dead or alive.

"Is he dead?", Axel peaked at the scene.

"There's no way he survived that, right?", Jess wondered.

"I don't know…", Martin locked his eyes on The Destroyer, hoping he would not come back up.

The helicopters landed on the ground and they joined the police officers in observing the body.

"How is he doing?", the captain asked as she tried to hold back her anger.

"Blood is flowing from his head and his body hasn't moved an inch. But we still have to check his pulse", the police head replied.

"What gun did you use, Captain?", the pilot from Squadron C asked.

"It's an S-tier gun, I-I got it a few weeks ago. It takes a while to load up, but it hits hard.", the captain explained as she wiped her tears away.

"I'll go check his pulse.", the assistant chief volunteered. He slowly walked toward the body, carefully examining any signs of life.
