Raiden launched himself forward once more, determined to strike Superman down, but this time, the Man of Steel was ready. Superman's senses had sharpened, his focus narrowed to the point where every one of Raiden's movements seemed almost predictable. With each punch Raiden threw, Superman countered, delivering devastating blows to Raiden's midsection, his ribs, and his jaw. The force behind each punch was immense, steadily chipping away at Raiden's seemingly indestructible defenses.

Superman wasn't letting up.

Another punch crashed into Raiden's side, sending him stumbling back. Before he could recover, Superman was already upon him, grabbing Raiden by the neck with a vice-like grip. Without hesitation, Superman flew straight up into the skies, carrying Raiden higher and higher, the icy wasteland below becoming nothing more than a blur of white and blue. The air grew thinner, colder, but Raiden's resistance only intensified, his golden eyes burning with rage.

But Superman was relentless.

In a single swift motion, his eyes flared red, and twin beams of intense heat shot forth, cutting through Raiden's body like molten blades. The heat was so intense that it instantly severed Raiden in half, his body splitting apart as the laser beams bisected him. For the second time, Raiden was dead, his two halves falling from the sky like broken debris, spiraling toward the frozen ground below.

But Superman knew better than to celebrate. He had witnessed Raiden's regeneration before, and he knew this would not be the end.

Raiden's body began to reform in mid-air, the particles of his flesh knitting themselves back together with astonishing speed. But before Raiden could fully regain his bearings, Superman was already diving down, faster than sound, a blur of red and blue. He slammed into Raiden with both fists, the impact so powerful it shattered the ice below them, sending shockwaves across the Arctic. The ground gave way, and the two of them plunged into the freezing waters beneath the shattered surface.

Underwater, Superman's heat vision ignited once again. His lasers shot through the dark, icy depths, cutting into Raiden's body once more. He didn't hold back, the heat from his eyes burning through Raiden's flesh, searing him from the inside out. Superman's strength pressed Raiden deeper and deeper into the water, pinning him against the icy floor, the pressure crushing down on him from all sides.

Raiden, unable to fight back, drowned, his body once again succumbing to death's cold grip.

For the third time, Superman had killed him.

But Superman knew this wasn't the end. He knew Raiden would revive, as he always did. Breaking the surface of the icy waters, Superman flew upwards, rising into the sky. His chest heaved with exertion, his breath fogging the frigid air. He floated there, hovering above the Arctic wasteland, eyes scanning the broken ice below, waiting for Raiden's inevitable return.

Superman floated above the Arctic wasteland, his senses on high alert. Then, something strange began to happen. The air around him grew hot—unnaturally hot for the frozen tundra. The ice beneath him started to melt, the water below it evaporating into steam. Superman's eyes widened in shock as the entire landscape was engulfed in a searing heat, and then, without warning, a laser—similar to his own heat vision—blasted him square in the chest. It sent him hurtling even higher into the sky, the impact catching him completely off guard.

Raiden emerged from the rising flames with a speed Superman could barely comprehend. His appearance had once again changed dramatically.

The figure that stood before him exuded a commanding presence, dressed in a sleek black bodysuit lined with intricate gold armor. The golden accents shimmered along his arms and legs, adding a regal yet menacing aura. Short, white hair crowned his head, framing sharp, ethereal features, and a glowing crimson gem pulsed ominously at the center of his chest. Spiked gauntlets covered his hands, clearly designed for battle, and behind him, translucent wings flickered with an eerie, pink-red hue, casting an unsettling light in the frozen sky. In his grip, a long, ornate spear crackled with chaotic energy, the sheer destructive force radiating from it.

Superman barely had time to react.

Raiden's speed was unmatched, his movements too fast for even Superman to track. With a powerful thrust, Raiden drove his spear forward. Superman raised his arms in defense, barely managing to block the blow, but the intense heat from the spear was too much. Flames erupted from the weapon, engulfing Superman's arms. His suit began to melt, the fabric disintegrating under the intense heat, and then his skin followed, burning beneath the flame's searing touch. Superman gritted his teeth in agony, feeling his strength waver as his arms gave way.

Raiden capitalized on the moment, pulling the spear back before delivering a vicious side strike. The force of the blow sent Superman flying through the air, crashing into a nearby mountain with enough power to crumble the rock beneath him. Superman struggled to stand, his vision blurry, his body reeling from the assault, but Raiden was already upon him. Before Superman could even blink, Raiden's spear was embedded in his chest.

Though Raiden had missed Superman's vital organs, the spear still pierced deep, blood pouring from the wound. Raiden lifted Superman high into the air, the spear still lodged in his body. With one mighty heave, Raiden flew upward, dragging Superman with him before hurling him back to the ground with terrifying force. Superman's body crashed into the scorched earth below, the impact sending shockwaves through the already broken land. He lay there, motionless, his body broken.

Hovering above him, Raiden began to chant, his voice echoing like thunder across the barren landscape.

"Feel the mercy of the King of Gods,

You will be destroyed with this one strike...

Watch, Indra!

I will burn it all!

Vasavi Shakti!!"

The spear in Raiden's hand transformed, glowing brighter as the last of his golden armor disintegrated into nothingness, a necessary sacrifice to unleash the full power of his attack. A hellish blaze erupted from the spear, enveloping it in a mass of flame as Raiden unleashed Vasavi Shakti—a catastrophic attack that summoned flames as hot as the inferno itself.

The sky darkened as the flames surged toward the ground, forming a massive, burning sphere—large enough to engulf an entire town. The hellish firestorm raged on for what felt like an eternity, consuming everything in its path. The ice, the land, everything around them was scorched beyond recognition. When the flames finally subsided, the once white, frozen wasteland had been transformed into a charred battlefield. The ground was blackened, and the air was thick with the scent of smoke and ash.

Superman lay at the center of it all, broken and defeated. His once pristine suit was in tatters, his body riddled with injuries beyond healing. The spear still protruded from his chest, and the hellfire had left burns across his body. He had survived, but just barely. The fight had taken everything from him.

Raiden landed far from the scorched battlefield, his feet gently touching the ground as he began to walk toward Superman

Raiden stood over the broken form of Superman, his spear raised and aimed directly at the Man of Steel's neck. The battle had been brutal, and Superman lay at his feet, beaten, barely clinging to life. Victory was within Raiden's grasp, but before he could make his final move, a voice rang out from above.

"NO, STOP IT!"

Supergirl descended from the sky, landing beside her fallen cousin. Her face was filled with desperation, her eyes wide with fear and fury as she looked at Raiden. She positioned herself protectively in front of Superman, arms outstretched.

"Please... don't do this," she begged, her voice shaking but firm. "He's my family. The last of my kin. If you take him from me, I swear, I will never forgive you. I will hate you for the rest of my life... until the day I kill you."

Raiden's eyes shifted to Kara, the girl he had saved once, the one who had looked up to him. Her words were full of emotion, and her sad, pleading gaze struck something deep within him. For a moment, Raiden paused, lowering his spear slightly. He exhaled, a long, tired sigh escaping his lips as he looked back at Superman, lying broken in the dirt.

"I suppose my point stands now," Raiden muttered, his voice calm, but with a cold finality. He took a step back, though his presence remained as commanding as ever.

He spoke, not just to Superman, but to the world itself, as if declaring his truth to the universe. "Know this, today I have shown you just a glimpse of my power. No one, no one is equal to me. I am better, stronger, more powerful than anyone in this world and beyond it. I am eternal. Long-lasting. Godly. But…" he paused, glancing at the broken man before him, then toward the devastated Kara. "I am also of the people."

Raiden's eyes narrowed as he continued, his voice growing more intense. "I am a merciful leader, one who will lead this world to its peak, its rightful place in the cosmos. But understand this—my path is chosen. I choose to walk this path. And you, Kal-El, Clark... Superman—whatever name you go by—you will join this world in following it. You will kneel, like the rest. You will accept that I am the King."

Raiden turned to Kara, his expression softening just a fraction as he saw the hurt in her eyes. For a moment, there was something almost human in his gaze—regret, perhaps, or understanding. But it was fleeting.

He sighed once more, then turned away, his figure disappearing into the distance. He left the two alone—Superman battered and broken, Supergirl standing guard over her fallen cousin.

The battle was over
