Hearing the news, Raiden told Raven and Kori before the trio went to Mount Justice.

"Recognized Raiden Kagawa B-10."

"Recognized Raven B-11."

"Recognized Starfire A-15."

Walking off the teleporter, Raiden immediately noticed the sad atmosphere surrounding the team. All of them were in mourning; young members of the team were crying, and Megan seemed devastated.

Seeing Raiden come in, Megan quickly went to hug him, saying, "Raiden, It's Artemis…" As she cried, Raiden placed his hand on her head and said, "I know, Connor told me…I won't let him get away with it," Raiden said as a tear dropped from his eyes.

'Damn it, DICK! She was retired! Fuck, she quit this whole thing. Why did you go and bring her back! And Kaldur! I'll fucking kill that bastard! I shouldn't have hesitated back on Melina Island, Fuck,' the anger inside Raiden's mind was flowing, as he couldn't help but feel helpless. Perhaps he made a bad decision by leaving the team; he lost a dear friend due to his selfishness.

'Artemis was the one who taught me martial arts in my early days; she was always beside me and helped me grow, one of the first members who welcomed me and cared for me.'

Raiden held himself as he turned to Connor and said, "Where's Dick?" Hearing that, Connor lowered his head and said, "He went to tell Wally; you just missed him."

Hearing that, Raiden opened his eyes. 'Wally, Shit, how must he feel, fuck.' Raiden looked at the team and said, "I see, I'm going there. Stay with them and stay strong, everyone. I'll make sure to avenge her." He then turned around and walked towards the teleporter.

Raiden went to Wally and Artemis' apartment, trying to locate him, but to his surprise, he wasn't there. He looked around and couldn't find him. "Assassin."

Turning into his Assassin Servant, Raiden tried to locate any evidence, and once again, he was surprised. It seemed that Wally had just left the home not long ago, so tracking the traces, he spread his eighty or so clones all around the vicinity.

'Got him.'

Raiden removed the transformation from the copy that was close to Wally, as he saw him walking around with a hooded person. 'That hooded person… It can't be,' thought Raiden as he continued to follow them.

They walked into an abandoned building; he stayed close by, making sure to hide his presence as he looked at them. Suddenly, Nightwing and Kaldur emerged, and the hooded person revealed their identity.

"You know, I was this close to killing you," said Raiden as all of them turned to the top of the abandoned building, seeing Raiden.

"Raiden!" said Nightwing as he looked shocked. "It looks like we were found out," said Kaldur.

"Raiden, I'm sorry. It was necessary," tried to explain Nightwing as he looked at Wally and the hooded figure

Artemis.

"The entire league is in mourning, and here you are faking a death like this? Do you have any idea what the consequences of such actions are?" said Raiden as he dropped down close to Wally and Artemis. He placed his hand on her shoulder and said, "I'm glad that you're safe." He then turned to Nightwing and Kaldur and said, "You make such decisions without going through the team first; it's stupid. Do you understand what could have happened? I wasn't joking, Kaldur. I had a hunch at first, but it was all gone when I heard that you killed Artemis. I was really coming to kill you, Kaldur. I was this close to destroying every Manta ship until I located you."

"We had to do this; we needed to infiltrate the Light. It's for the mission," argued Dick. But Kaldur raised his hand and said, "I was aware of the consequences, but as Dick says, it is very necessary. I needed the Light and my father to trust me." Hearing that, Raiden gave up on arguing and just said, "Well, at least I confirmed something. I'm not happy about it, but at least Artemis is safe, and that's what matters."

Raiden turned to leave, but then Nightwing said, "Are you going to tell anyone?" to which Raiden looked back and said, "No, you'll be responsible for that, not me."

...

Gaia walked back to her throne. As she sat on it, she relaxed a bit and then looked at her servant, the entity known as Alaya, the one usually responsible for the protection of planet Earth.

Alaya was what is called a counterforce, a special ability that the planet Earth holds to always protect itself and its residents from danger. This force acts in many different ways. When Superman or the League is fighting the world's doom, this force acts and increases their powers a bit. It guides them with new clues and grants them their unfound strength.

However, no matter how strong Alaya was, darkness wasn't an entity that could be easily defeated. After all, it doesn't aim to destroy the Earth; rather, it's trying to engulf the entire universe, eventually, the entire multiverse.

"The Fate system has been completed. The individual identified as Raiden Kagawa now possesses full control," spoke Alaya as she addressed her mother, Gaia.

"Yes, it is an unprecedented occurrence. Among all the potential future simulations, he alone has achieved this feat. Our reliance rests solely upon him now," spoke Gaia. When she had shown Raiden about other people using the Fate system, she didn't clarify it enough. The reality is, none of that ever happened. They were all possible futures for people to wield that power, not reality. But due to Raiden coming from a different universe, she couldn't really see his future.

"I am burdened with shame, for I have deceived him. I spun a tale of his selection based on selflessness, concealing the truth, and even subjected him to a fabricated future where he succumbs to darkness," said Gaia, somewhat disappointed at herself. Another lie she hadn't told Raiden is that his acquisition of the system was nothing more than a mere coincidence. When she unlocked the ways to the Fate universe, she wasn't actually supposed to take a soul from there; she was simply going to hand it to the real Raiden Kagawa, assuming that him losing his parents due to that accident was going to make his character stronger, and as such, attaining the Fate power was going to lead him to a righteous path, and from all the simulations, he was the best possible. But Raiden's soul slipped away from its original world and came with the Fate system, taking over the original Raiden.

"You have executed actions deemed beneficial for the world. There is no necessity for you to experience shame. I have faith in you, Mother," said Alaya. Although she was a calculative entity, usually showing no emotions, when it comes to her mother, that changes.

"I hope so,

too. May he indeed be the savior we desperately need, guiding us all towards a future filled with hope and prosperity…"
