Luo Tian continued to elucidate his plans to Supreme Kai and the old Supreme Kai. "Additionally, aside from Supreme Kai, I also require a Gods of Destruction. Their responsibilities are similar to those of Supreme Kai, focused on maintaining the universe's equilibrium. You two, grab a small notebook and jot this down. Don't just stand there; concentrate on upholding the universe's balance."
Supreme Kai was left flabbergasted, while the old Supreme Kai let out a dry chuckle.
"Fine, fine, I'll write it down. What are the Gods of Destruction supposed to do?" Supreme Kai asked, his curiosity piqued.
"With the continuous creation of planets and the birth of life, the universe's resources will gradually diminish, and the number of souls in the underworld will increase. This disrupts the universe's balance and necessitates destruction," Luo Tian explained. "The primary aim of destruction is to realign the universe and relieve any strain on the underworld."
"Are you serious or just messing around?" Supreme Kai wiped his brow, clearly befuddled.
"No, I'm not kidding," the old Supreme Kai interjected, siding with Luo Tian's idea. He gently shook his head at Supreme Kai.
"Lord Ancestor!" Supreme Kai was taken aback by the old Supreme Kai's support. He was speaking to an outsider!
"In fact, ever since I was released from the seal, I've sensed that something is amiss with our universe," the old Supreme Kai mused.
"What's wrong, Lord Ancestor?" Supreme Kai inquired eagerly. "Aside from that villain Baby on Earth, it's been 15 years since Majin Buu. There doesn't seem to be any issues."
"Can't you see that our Universe is getting overcrowded?" the old Supreme Kai pointed out.
"Overcrowded? Isn't having more inhabitants a good thing?" Supreme Kai questioned, sounding reasonable.
"Boom!"
A resounding slap sent Supreme Kai tumbling to the ground.
"You fool! Having more inhabitants is indeed a positive development, but if it continues unchecked, the universe's resources will gradually deplete. When that happens, as Luo Tian Angel mentioned, the balance of our universe will be disrupted, potentially leading to its destruction," the old Supreme Kai sighed. "Actually, I tried to convey this concern to you and Goku back then, but you simply brushed it off. Reflecting on it now, if things persist, it's only a matter of time—probably in another 100 years or so—before the Universe faces dire consequences."
"Is it truly that grave?" Supreme Kai couldn't help but feel a sense of unease.
"That's why we must..." Luo Tian began.
"Wait a minute, Luo Tian Angel," Supreme Kai interrupted. "We need to find a Gods of Destruction to destroy these planets. Why should I abdicate and let someone else take my place?"
"The reason is simple. In my scheme, Supreme Kai and Gods of Destruction share their fate: if one perishes, the other vanishes as well. This arrangement ensures closer cooperation between the two roles," Luo Tian explained with a smile. "So, are you prepared to share your life with a Gods of Destruction?"
"What's wrong with that? Sharing life doesn't bother me at all," Supreme Kai responded with a nervous chuckle.
"No, the Gods of Destruction have reservations," Luo Tian continued.
"Gods of Destruction? Why would they object?" Supreme Kai asked inquisitively.
"Because you're too weak. If you die, the Gods of Destruction I painstakingly cultivated will disappear as well. Can you guarantee that I won't suffer a loss?" Luo Tian smiled faintly.
Supreme Kai: "..."
Am I really that feeble?
"It's settled, then. I'll choose the right Supreme Kai and Gods of Destruction later," Luo Tian informed the two Supreme Kais. "I'm informing you, not consulting you. I hope, Lord Supreme Kai, that you'll put effort into training the new Supreme Kai."
"As long as it prevents our Universe from perishing, I'll comply with your wishes," the old Supreme Kai agreed with a nod.
"Do you already have a suitable candidate for the new Supreme Kai?" Supreme Kai inquired.
"Son Goku," Luo Tian replied with a smile. "Do you think he's qualified?"
Supreme Kai nodded emphatically.
Son Goku as Supreme Kai? That seemed entirely acceptable to him.
"Well, Goku is indeed a fitting candidate for Supreme Kai. His character and other attributes align well with the role," the old Supreme Kai concurred, nodding in agreement. "However, Goku doesn't appear to have any interest in becoming Supreme Kai. He prefers freedom and combat over anything else."
"He'll agree," Luo Tian asserted confidently.
"What about Gods of Destruction? Have you identified a suitable candidate?" Supreme Kai questioned further.
"Vegeta, what do you think?" Luo Tian proposed, a grin on his face.
"Vegeta? Well, his character and other qualities do seem fitting for the role of Gods of Destruction," the old Supreme Kai mused, lowering his head in thought. "However, one thing concerns me. As far as I know, Gods of Destruction should be stronger than Supreme Kai, yet currently, Vegeta lags behind Goku in terms of strength."
"I'll train him rigorously. After all, Vegeta is already at the Super Saiyan Fourth Level. With my training, he can quickly reach the same level as Son Goku," Luo Tian reassured.
The old Supreme Kai remained silent.
Was this a credible promise? Could Vegeta truly surpass Goku under such circumstances?
