Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: A New Chapter in Charlotte's Life

In 1997, in the picturesque town of San Francisco, lived Charlotte, a young woman of singular beauty. Brunette, with light brown eyes that seemed to capture the sunlight, she had soft skin and a curvaceous body. Her long, black, curly hair was the perfect frame for her expressive face.

On a day like any other, Charlotte walked through the local market, intending to buy some groceries for her home. As she browsed the stalls of fruits and vegetables, her shoulders bumped into those of a man she had never seen before. Although she knew almost everyone in town, this face was new to her. His blue eyes, deep as the ocean, met hers as he apologized, "I'm sorry, beautiful lady."

A shiver ran down Charlotte's spine, her hands sweated, and her eyes sparkled. It was an inexplicable feeling, something completely new to her. The stranger gallantly helped her regain her balance, holding her hands for a brief moment.

"It's nothing," replied Charlotte, visibly agitated, not fully understanding the whirlwind of emotions that engulfed her.

Still somewhat dazed, she continued her shopping, but the image of that man wouldn't leave her mind. Who was he, with his dark hair, blue eyes, and soft skin? She couldn't understand why she felt so attracted to a complete stranger.

Upon returning home, Charlotte entered the kitchen and found her mother, Aurélia, preparing dinner. Aurélia immediately noticed that something was different. "Hello, my dear daughter, did you buy everything I asked you to?"

"Hi, Mom, yes, I bought everything you asked for," replied Charlotte, trying to appear as natural as possible.

Aurélia, however, was not convinced. "My daughter, you seem a bit off. Is there something you'd like to tell me?"

Charlotte hesitated for a moment but decided not to share the unusual encounter. "No, Mom, nothing happened. I'm going up to my room."

And so, Charlotte withdrew, leaving Aurélia with a feeling that something significant had occurred. As she climbed the stairs, Charlotte couldn't help but think about the stranger who had crossed her path, and the mystery that now added a new chapter to her life.

Charlotte walked into her room, gently closing the door behind her. She lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling as a torrent of questions flooded her mind. Who was that man? What could his name be? Where could he have come from? The questions were numerous, but the answers scarce.

Despite the enigma now occupying her thoughts, Charlotte decided to go on with her life as if nothing had happened. When her mother, Aurélia, called her for dinner, she descended the stairs and found her father, William, already seated at the table. She greeted him with a goodnight kiss and took her seat.

During dinner, Aurélia asked her husband how his day had been. William shared that he had hired a very efficient young man to help him in his business. The young man was new to the village and, knowing no one, William had invited him to dine at their home the following night so the family could meet him.

At dawn, Charlotte's alarm clock rang, bringing her back to reality. She got up and walked to the window, opening the curtains to let in the daylight. The scenery was stunning: the sun shone brightly, chickens clucked in the yard, the cow emitted its morning moo, and birds sang melodies that seemed especially enchanting that morning.

Charlotte headed to the bathroom, delicately sliding the strap of her lingerie off her shoulder. She turned on the shower and let the warm water envelop her body, like a comforting hug. She took the soap and began to spread it gently over her skin.

After rinsing off and brushing her teeth, she returned to her room to choose a comfortable outfit for the day ahead. It was about six-thirty in the morning. Dressed, she sprayed a rose-scented perfume and styled her curly hair in a simple but elegant hairstyle. With her bed already made, she went downstairs.

In the kitchen, a lavish breakfast table awaited her. There was cornbread, chocolate cake, various types of bread and cheese, among other delights. After enjoying her breakfast, Charlotte began to clear the table, placing the dishes in the sink and storing the leftovers. Then, she devoted herself to washing the dishes and organizing the kitchen.

Later, having completed her morning chores, Charlotte joined her mother, Aurélia, on the house's porch. Surrounded by a gentle breeze, mother and daughter began to talk. It was then that Charlotte decided to share the intriguing encounter she had had at the market the day before.

Aurélia listened attentively and, with a thoughtful expression, warned her daughter about the rumors of witches and wizards circulating in the village. Although both considered such stories more legend than reality, Aurélia's warning added a layer of mystery to the already enigmatic day.

As night approached, so did the time for the special dinner. Charlotte and Aurélia headed to the kitchen to begin preparations. Once everything was ready, both went up to their rooms to get dressed, each lost in their own thoughts about what the night might bring.

Charlotte opted for a delicate blue dress, complemented by a ponytail and nude-colored heels. Her makeup was light and simple, highlighting her natural beauty. Sitting in the living room, she eagerly awaited the arrival of her father's guest, having no idea what the night had in store for her.

The long-awaited dinner finally began, but the young man her father had spoken of had not yet arrived. Amid casual conversation, William mentioned that he wasn't feeling well, complaining of headaches and moments of disorientation throughout the day. Meanwhile, Charlotte was in her room when the doorbell rang. Aurélia opened the door and welcomed young Benjamin.

"Good evening, young man. Come in, make yourself at home; we've been waiting for you," said Aurélia, with a welcoming smile.

"Good evening, ma'am. I was looking forward to meeting you all," replied Benjamin, entering the house.

Hearing the sound of the doorbell, Charlotte quickly descended the stairs. When she reached the kitchen, she saw Benjamin from behind, approaching to greet her. As he turned around, he revealed himself to be the same man she had bumped into at the market. Charlotte was speechless, completely astonished. Benjamin extended his hand and greeted her.

"Hello, beautiful lady. How are you? I have the impression I've seen you somewhere before," he said, with an intriguing smile.

"Good evening. Yes, we've met before. It was at the market, when we bumped into each other," replied Charlotte, visibly embarrassed.

Aurélia invited Benjamin to sit down, and Charlotte, still stunned, couldn't take her eyes off him. As the night progressed, Benjamin also couldn't help but admire her, as if trying to decipher a fascinating enigma. Aurélia had prepared a delicious meal, accompanied by a selected wine.

Benjamin had only one curiosity: to know the name of the young woman who enchanted him. Upon discovering that it was Charlotte, he became even more fascinated.

Finally, the night was coming to an end. At the time of farewell, Benjamin gave a soft kiss on Charlotte's cheek, leaving her blushing. Her parents, oblivious to what was happening, did not notice the exchange of glances between the two young people.

Charlotte went up to her room, changed her clothes, and lay down, still smiling at the discovery that the mysterious man was closer than she had imagined. She felt that something wonderful was about to happen. Lost in her thoughts about the unforgettable night, she eventually fell asleep, lulled by the silent promises that the future seemed to hold.
