Merlin rubbed his hands together, looking up at the sky:
"Shoo."
Above the sky, an invisible ripple emerged in front of the sprinting light beam. The light beam then collided with it, disappearing without a trace.
Merlin stepped back, and the space behind him opened its giant maw, swallowing him whole.
Moments later, several knights in black armor arrived, looking around in confusion.
The light beam reappeared from far away above an open forest and plunged to the ground like a shooting star.
Lei staggered a few steps before stopping. Instinctively, she looked back, but there were only densely packed tall oak trees behind her.
After looking around and finding nothing noteworthy, she leaned against a tree trunk, closed her eyes, and recalled her recent experience.
Had she just turned into a ray of light?
Lei could feel a wonderful warmth coursing through her body, more celestial than ever before.
