Bedwell had been staying at Lei's house for two days.
With just a simple observation, he concluded that Lei now lived alone and that the house had once been occupied by others.
Moreover, the various portraits on the walls mostly depicted a young couple and their little girl. The knight could easily picture Lei's current situation.
Today he stood in the living room, observing the portraits hanging on the wall.
The girl noticed Bedwell staring at the image of her parents:
"They left me forever when I was very young. I was sick at that time, and they had to find a way to raise money for me. It was a huge sum, and they had to take on some very dangerous jobs.
"Later, they passed away. Fortunately, I met a kind woman who donated a substantial amount of money to help me through the hardest days. She also took me to the best doctors. Although I wasn't completely cured, I could at least lead a normal life."
