Hewitt opened the door.
The girl put down her book and got off the couch.
Hela exclaimed happily:
"Hewitt, you're back! Oh, what is this?"
In Hewitt's right hand was a gold chain, at the end of which was a pocket watch with strange carvings.
Hewitt pulled the watch back into his hand:
"A terrible thing, Hela. You should stay away from it."
Hela asked worriedly:
"Hewitt, is it dangerous?"
Hewitt glanced at the one-eyed little person carved on the watch for a moment:
"It should be. Just stay away from it, and you'll be fine."
There was no magical power, witchcraft energy, distortions brought by ancient worship, or evil aura on the watch. The patterns were just patterns.
But some things, even just simple drawings of them, could bring terrible and vast shadows from other realms.
This was partly why traces of the Ancient Gods were erased. If someone could accurately depict Odin, even if the painting itself was created without any magic, it would still possess strange powers.
