That scene was a tremendous torture for anyone with a sane mind, enough to make a highly educated scholar fall into the deepest nightmare for the rest of their lives, restless day and night.

Paul believed that Hewitt must have seen a similar scene, which was why he looked pale and weak.

Paul had absolutely no intention of looking down on Hewitt. He was an evil monster himself, only managing to control his fanaticism and disgust with great effort after seeing the bloody and artistic scene.
