The sword tip pierced through Bernita's skin, and a drop of fresh blood slid down the blade.
Naomi stood on the spot, uncertain whether to advance or retreat.
She couldn't abandon Bernita's life, but she wouldn't be foolish enough to leave her own life in the hands of her enemies.
"How can you guarantee that you'll let us go once I drop my weapon?"
Rolli sneered sinisterly:
"I can't guarantee that. If I let you escape, I can't even save my own life. But I can assure you that you won't die right now.
"You're Lord Desiree's property. If I kill you, I'll be punished too."
Even if they surrendered, they would only live a little longer. But if she fought, at least one of them might survive.
Naomi tried to convince herself of this.
But she couldn't do it.
Naomi sighed:
"You win. I give up."
Naomi loosened her grip and let her weapon fall to the ground.
Rolli didn't let his guard down and continued to speak:
"Kick the dagger away."
Bernita watched everything unfold.
