Naomi sneered:
"Oh, what a pointless story you're telling, little sister. You should listen to the story your big sister has to share instead."
Without waiting for Bernita to refuse, she began to tell her story in a raspy voice:
"A long, long time ago, there was a little girl who was an orphan with no one to rely on. She wandered the streets, stealing to survive."
"Since childhood, she was bullied and never had enough to eat. So, she vowed to grow up and become a great thief, so no one would look down on her again, and so children like her would never go hungry."
Bernita was a little surprised, as she recalled a bag full of coins that mysteriously appeared at her home in the past.
The female thief continued:
"When she was sixteen, she fell in love with a naive boy from the streets, just like her. Unlike the girl, he was not an orphan, but his parents were respectable citizens."
