Lei followed Gavin to Worton.
She and Gavin each rode white horses that were clearly extraordinary, considering the distance they had traveled on this journey.
Behind them was a carriage carrying Gavin's family. In Lei's eyes, the creature pulling the carriage appeared as a dark mist, but according to Gavin, that was only because she couldn't see its true form.
The carriage was spacious and elegant, but what piqued Lei's curiosity was how it occasionally disappeared from sight, as if it had never existed.
Gavin's explanation:
"This carriage is from my wife's homeland. When it disappears, it is actually traveling through other dimensions. Since we do not have the blood of exotic creatures in our veins, we cannot board it."
How many of these stories were true?
Were Gavin's wife and children really exotic creatures or at least half-exotic creatures? And was it true that the knight, as the legend said, was strongest at noon?
