Spade boss looked coldly at the duke:
"You'd better go back and lick Joker's shoes."
Duke of Spades sighed:
"Your insults don't anger me anymore. Once you know the real joy, you'll realize that these things are nothingness, and only eternal pleasure is real."
Spade boss asked:
"Are the lives of those people nothing too?"
Duke of Spades nodded:
"Everything is meaningless except your own joy."
Spade boss turned his head and said to Perseis:
"He's much stronger than me. I'll hold him off, you take your people and leave. But remember, you owe us."
The duke said:
"Spade Nine, you can't do it. I'm not the ignorant, weak me of the past. But I'm curious, what have they promised you to make you willing to sacrifice yourself for a meaningless escape?"
Perseis refused firmly:
"He's right, Spade boss, you can't stop him. You take them and leave, let me do it."
Spade boss was somewhat confused; he didn't understand why Perseis was speaking this way.
