Hewitt suggested:
"Perhaps when you have some free time someday, you can introduce me to your mother."
Inez was momentarily stunned and then covered her mouth as laughter erupted uncontrollably.
"What's the matter?" Hewitt was puzzled.
The girl wiped the tears from her laughter and said:
"At first, wasn't I the one who wanted to meet Mr. Lite's niece? Now the roles are reversed, haha."
Actually, the young girl knew that her original intention to meet Hewitt's niece wasn't so pure.
It was easy for people to think of something bad when a big businessman was always traveling with his niece and not letting her go outside.
However, Inez now felt a strong sense of guilt for her previous thoughts.
A heavy sound of footsteps came from behind them.
"Inez? Why are you with him?"
Aside from George, only his four disciples were allowed to enter freely.
Abel was standing behind them.
Inez's face suddenly turned cold:
"Is there a problem with me being here with Mr. Lite?"
Abel sneered and questioned:
"You bring an outsider to the Pure White Tower and dare to act so righteous, daughter of the Chief Judge."
Inez responded word by word:
"I have my own name, son of Dickinson."
Although Abel didn't interact much with Inez normally, he felt he knew how to provoke her:
"What, does the Chief Judge want to meddle in our Knights' internal affairs too? Aren't you satisfied with changing the law? Do you want to alter the Knights' rules as well?"
Inez gripped her waist and the long sword angrily:
"Abel, I want to duel... "
"Wait." Hewitt put his hand on Inez's shoulder.
For some reason, Inez instantly calmed down.
"I am the newly appointed honorary advisor of the Knights."
Abel found it somewhat amusing and replied:
"There is no such position in the Knights."
Hewitt found it strange that this Abel didn't seem like a fool, so why would he keep trying to cause trouble:
"There wasn't one previously, but after discussing with George, we felt it necessary to add such a position. Meanwhile, my rank is only below the leader of the Knights, which means you were just questioning your own superior."
"Questioning your superior without cause, that's disloyalty, Abel, you've violated the Knights' virtues."
Abel opened his mouth, not knowing how he had violated the knightly virtues:
"Impossible, how could the teacher... "
Hewitt waved his hand impatiently:
"Go ask George yourself. I'm curious, although we've had some issues, I didn't mind after you apologized. Why are you still trying to cause trouble for yourself?"
Abel didn't believe someone who had been humiliated that way would not retaliate, at least he wouldn't, but now he could only blush and said nothing.
Fortunately, he considered himself a smart man who could assess the situation. He immediately knelt on one knee and shouted:
"I'm terribly sorry for my hastiness in questioning a stranger without asking for clarification and disrespecting the advisor. I apologize profusely."
He cleverly twisted his own actions and intentions.
Inez grinned, it wasn't a simple questioning just now, it was basically mockery. But she didn't expect him to admit his mistake so decisively.
With lowered head, Abel's eyes flashed with hatred. It seemed like dealing with Lite would require a long-term plan to be put in place.
Hewitt spoke coldly:
"Let's go, we have other things to do."
Abel immediately stood up, and with a forced smile, he asked:
"Advisor, do you have any other matters?"
Hewitt's tone had more impatience:
"Am I your superior, or are you mine?"
Abel turned around, and in his eyes flashed a fury he thought only he knew.
It wasn't until the annoying fellow left that Hewitt said to Inez:
"Let's go."
The girl blinked her eyes:
"Mr. Lite, have you really become a knight advisor?"
Hewitt replied:
"Yes, genuinely."
The girl swung her white ponytail:
"So should I call you Advisor now?"
Hewitt showed a gentle smile and sincerely said his alias:
"Just continue calling me Lite."
The two quickly arrived at their destination.
A man dressed in casual clothes waited for them here.
As soon as the man saw them, he said:
"Mr. George has already instructed me, Lady Inez, and this Mr. Lite, I am Odom."
Inez took off half of her armor, revealing a delicate and unusually fair right arm:
"Is this good enough?"
Odom nodded:
"Yes, I'm ready here, we can start anytime."
Inez looked at Hewitt:
"Mr. Lite, how much do you need?"
"500 milliliters will do, this amount won't have much impact on you, right?"
Inez answered skillfully:
"I'll be a bit weak for two or three days, but I'll recover quickly."
Seeing that Inez was ready, Odom pulled a thin, transparent hose from a machine that was as tall as a person. The tip of the hose was a sharp needle.
Odom skillfully inserted the needle into the girl's arm, turned around, and pulled the lever on the machine. He looked at the numbers on the dial, and quickly pulled it back again.
Bright red blood gushed from her pale skin and instantly filled a small glass tube.
Odom took the needle out of the girl, whose face was now pale.
"Now comes the important part. Ever since its establishment, the Knight Order has been inseparable from the use of blood. Due to negligence, the enemy once obtained important blood from the Knight Order, and a powerful curse took the lives of hundreds of knights.
"Since then, all extracted blood has had to be magically erased of its original owner's traces. Over time, many knight orders' heritage can even ignore curses without this step."
Inez continued explaining:
"However, I am different from ordinary knights. I am not from a knightly family but a noble, so I don't have the ability to resist curses. I hope you don't mind, Mr. Lite."
"Safety is the priority." Hewitt shook his head and then made a self-deprecating gesture, "Besides, I'm not a good person anyway."
The girl let out a light laugh.
As the magic runes around the glass tube flickered and steam sprayed from the side of the machine, the glass tube was gently ejected.
Odom took Inez's blood and handed it to Hewitt.
Hewitt held the glass tube, placing it in his arms.
"You should rest well, I'm going back first." Hewitt said to Inez.
The girl smiled in reply:
"Okay, but when I visit you, Mr. Lite, don't shut me out."
"Don't worry."
Inez smiled as she watched Hewitt leave.
The White Dragon Blood made the girl somewhat melancholic, even overly sensitive.
Surpassing the realm of perception, it was more like a unique gift of the dragon.
It was probably to the extent of hearing voices before others spoke.
Even if Abel were to speak politely, Inez would know his arrogance and complacency. By looking at her father's eyes, she knew his indifference and anger transfer, and no matter what her mother said, she couldn't feel an ounce of love.
So she gradually became numb. Whether it was anger, ridicule, or indifference, she could completely ignore it.
So, she should have been able to ignore any more grief.
But she had never felt such empathy before...
Such heartbreaking sorrow.
