9:13 AM on September 14th.
At that instant, there were two knock sounds.
Mr. Hewitt's mansion had another visitor. While the knock was two light taps, they came in quick succession, suggesting the visitor was somewhat impatient.
Mr. Hewitt made his way to the door and cautiously opened it to a young woman who looked rather anxious.
Kerry quickly entered the room without saying a word, tightly clutching a newspaper.
She entered and immediately shut the door behind her, looking around:
"Where is Hela?"
Mr. Hewitt replied:
"She went for a walk."
Kerry asked:
"She won't be back soon, will she?"
Mr. Hewitt nodded:
"She won't be. What's wrong?"
Kerry and Mr. Hewitt moved to the living room to sit. She was the first to speak:
"May I have a glass of water? Or any drink will do."
Mr. Hewitt proceeded to the liquor cabinet:
"Would alcohol do?"
"Alcohol would impair my thinking. Can I have milk instead?"
