After Alchemist Joriel opened the door, he turned and walked deeper into the laboratory. Bartlett stepped in, discreetly closed the door behind him and followed "How did you know I would come back looking for you?" he asked curiously.
"Experience," Joriel replied without turning around, "every potion I've concocted is quite remarkable!" He stood up straight in pride for a half-second, then slumped back into his usual posture, "However, they all share a common flaw."
"What flaw?" Bartlett followed down the stairs. He felt as though Joriel's lab had moved deeper underground since his last visit, but he wasn't sure if that was just his imagination.
"A very troublesome flaw." Joriel sighed, "Those who have taken my potions, if they didn't die, always dig deep and do everything they can to find me again. Just like you."
"..." Bartlett was speechless at this answer, "Haven't you ever thought about why people, including me, are so eager to find you?"
