Bartlett and Prince Cookie talked for quite a long time. He could see that the Elf child who was of an unknown age was very eager to know what the world outside the Holy Land was like. He was particularly curious about the customs, human geography of every Wise Race, especially humans.
Bartlett didn't dislike chatting, but occasionally the young Prince Cookie would talk about strange topics related to the inner secrets of the Elves, whether intentionally or unintentionally. In Bartlett's view, those topics were too sensitive for him to know how to respond.
For example, Prince Cookie would tell Bartlett that some Elves secretly believed that the Great Druids should not have helped the Magic Empire improve Black Rye Grass or turn it into the most important food crop on the entire continent - Rye.
