Who knows how long it had been, or how far the distance had been run, but the restless Nightmare Beast finally came to a halt, the temperature of its burning mane no longer scorching. It was only then that Bartlett dismounted the Nightmare Beast, gently stroking its skull, and took out a few carrots from the Space Ring, feeding them into its mouth one by one.
"Your temper's getting bigger and bigger, you know," Bartlett said with a smile. "If it had been any longer, you might not have even responded to my call."
The Nightmare Beast shook its head and snorted, then its tongue gently licked the blisters on Bartlett's hands caused by the flames. Actually, the creature still knew its limits; otherwise, the Barbarian's hands would have suffered more than just blisters.
