The larva began to devour the scattered remains of flesh and blood around it as soon as it took shape. It started slow, but every time it gobbled a piece, its body grew and its consumption speed increased accordingly. In no time, the remains on the array were completely devoured by it.
After finishing its meal, the huge, disgusting larva, similar to a butterfly larva, turned into an ugly, wrinkled cocoon on the array. Through the semi-transparent skin of the cocoon, one could see a human figure gradually forming in the liquid inside.
The figure became clearer over time, and when the cocoon suddenly burst, a dark red devil, about two meters tall, appeared on the array.
The devil stood still for several heartbeats before the memories flooded into his mind like water. He lowered his head, looked at his newly restored hands, and revealed a satisfied smile.
"Yes, my name is Sage," he whispered softly.
