According to some anonymously written and unsigned historical records, in ancient times, 'Barto' was not divided into nine levels as it is now, but rather, like many other ordinary Plane Realms, it was a complete whole.
Later on, the 'Original Agreement' was signed for the first time, and the Lord of the Nine Hells descended upon this Plane Realm, which still had many indigenous creatures. His enormous body, carrying unrivaled strength, fell directly here and continued to descend, tearing 'Barto' apart from top to bottom into nine layers, turning it into what it is now.
The authenticity of such records cannot be verified, but it indirectly proves that the 'Barto' Plane Realm itself also had native inhabitants. As for those natives, the question is quite simple: most of them were the original Purgatory Creatures because the primitive 'Barto' Plane Realm, although not yet carrying the word 'Hell', also belonged to the Lower Plane.
