Inside a metal gate, our Barbarian Gladiator held a one-handed axe and a shield, staring at the not-too-distant Fire Giant enveloped in flames and the enormous, bizarre creature opposite it, feeling somewhat uneasy.
"You're not expecting me to take down both of those guys outside, are you?" He turned his head to ask the Thorn Devil behind him, who had lost an arm.
Bartlett was quite confident in his own martial arts, but defeating two such powerful creatures in a gladiatorial battle was still an unrealistic proposition. Especially the giant monster that looked like a mix of insect and beast, Bartlett doubted that the rusty axe in his hand would be good enough for anything more than scratching its itch.
"Oh, no." The Thorn Devil replied, "Those two have nothing to do with you. You'll be facing a thirty-man brawl, just like last time."
"Then why did you bring them out?" Bartlett wondered.
